Charles Lynch was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for distributing medical marijuana according to California state law. The Obama administration wanted to put him away for five years. Progress, my ass.

I thought the Obama administration said they weren't going to supersede California's drug laws on medicinal marijuana.

I guess the arrest took place while Bush was still in office, so the "gears of justice" had to grind forth from that benighted point in time.

What really got me was how the Obama people still wanted to put him away for five years instead of dismissing it altogether.

We know damn good and well that if some oil baron were arrested during Obama's tenure, that the charges would probably be dropped if the next president were a Republican.
