There is a knock out point on both sides of the jaw, near the hinges, under the ear. Hitting one or both with enough force will send a shock wave through the rest of the central nervous system. A square shot to the chin can force the jaw back into both of these points at once, with some risk of injuring your hand against the rigidity of the jawbone. There's another at the base of the skull, at the medula oblongata.
