Absurd GOP Attack Plan Exposed -- TYT

YouTube Description:

Via NYTimes.com: A group of high-profile Republican strategists is working with a conservative billionaire on a proposal to mount one of the most provocative campaigns of the "super PAC" era and attack President Obama in ways that Republicans have so far shied away from...The plan, which is awaiting approval, calls for running commercials linking Mr. Obama to incendiary comments by his former spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., whose race-related sermons made him a highly charged figure in the 2008 campaign. "The world is about to see Jeremiah Wright and understand his influence on Barack Obama for the first time in a big, attention-arresting way," says the proposal, which was overseen by Fred Davis and commissioned by Joe Ricketts...". The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

I love the desperate narrative they're going for. Yeah he didn't show his "true colors" during his first term. but OMG!!! if he gets elected for a second term, Then he'll magically turn into SuperCommunistLiberalMuslimSocialistHusseinMechaObama muhahahahhahaha!!

The insults just read like they got it from an elementary school, not adults that supposedly graduated from college.

I just find it humorous that they can't build up their own candidate. They can't find enough good things to say about their own candidate. They gotta make up crap about Obama.

It's just so sad. All my conservative friends are so fucking confused. They don't want to vote for Obama, but there is absolutely zero enthusiasm to vote for Romney. Meanwhile everyone who is even remotely on the fence swings toward Obama because of the ridiculous GOP primary shitstorm of a circus.

Don't get me wrong, yeah I'm voting for Obama, but I'm not exactly super pleased with him. He wasted way too much time attempting to play nice with the right when there was no chance in hell the right would EVER play nice with him. The right has made it their number one objective to make Obama a single term president. Not to govern the country, but to get him out. There is absolutely nothing Obama could do to win the right over...nothing. So why bother? You're better off pandering to the people who voted you in in the first place and continue demonstrating how the extreme right is becoming increasingly out of touch with the rest of the US.

He needed to take a page from Clinton and campaign for why his ideas were better than the other guy instead trying to appease people he was never going to win over and instead, win over that silent moderate majority.

in short, he was too wishy washy. he needed to take a stand sooner on many issues. Get it through your head Obama, the right tried to argue that you weren't a citizen and that you were a muslim terrorist. What part of "these people were never going to be your friends" don't you understand?

Agreed. He could have gotten more effective legislation in the first two years and missed some opportunities. It seems like he didn't want to believe that no matter how soft the legislation, it would be described in the most drastic way possible in attacks. Or that he was never going to get any compromise. I've read his books and I think he probably expected his opponents to eventually do what was right instead of what was politically advantageous.

It was either wishful thinking, or brilliant strategy - not sure which yet. In many of the moments of the last 3 years, I found myself thinking that he was adopting their positions knowing it would drive them away from them and into bat country and that seems to be what happened. The question that remains is whether that will end up costing his opponents this election.
