2007 Skoll World Forum, Muhammad Yunus

In 1974, in response to the famine in Bangladesh which resulted in 1,000,000 deaths, Muhammad Yunus started the first micro-loans bank to impoverished people. In 2006 he received the Nobel Peace Prize and in 2007 addressed the audience at the Skoll Awards for Social Entrepreneurship.

"micro loans" is a brilliant breakthrough idea, they make so much sense and cost almost literally Nothing yet do more good for people who actually need them than all the conventional loans (to already wealthy people who Don't need them) put together.

Corporate Capitalists must be either confused or resentful that this idea is taking off since it flies in the face of traditional capitalistic "meritocracy" economics, where only the "worthy" are given a chance to succeed.
