EDIT: Duckman took care of it. It's working now.

Okay, it's almost done. For some reason *the dead invocation didn't work yet, probably because siftbot now thinks it's unsifted, for whatever stupid reason. Go ahead and upvote it, then try the *dead invocation yourself. Hopefully that will do the trick and replace the embed automatically with a backup.

Well I want to get the original back alive because it's up at the top for Google search results already, for terms relating to a similar Mythbusters experiment done a month or two ago. Plus all the other stuff like preserving comments, etc.

Donate your points!

Thanks. I wish other people would be a little more open-minded. Maybe in another generation or two a story like this won't be surprising. One can hope.

Well put.

I understand what you're saying, rottenseed. I suppose I wasn't clear with my wording. Just because my little brother sometimes liked to pretend to be a girl and play with a lot of girl toys didn't automatically mean he was going to be gay. When I wrote, "If you haven't guessed by now, he's gay..." I meant that you might guess where I was going with this story, given the topic at hand. I wasn't trying to suggest that occasional girl-like behavior in a boy meant that the boy inevitably will become a gay man. My bad.

In regard to tedbater's comment, as bananafone and I mentioned, she didn't have surgery. She's now being treated as a girl instead of a boy, but no surgical reassignment has taken place. The parents consulted a specialist about this and learned as much as they could about transgenderism before they started treating her as a girl. Maybe you consider that disgusting as well. I don't know. Regardless, the issue itself isn't as cut and dried as you might believe. Neither of us are experts, and I can tell the parents didn't approach the issue lightly. I think their approach to this deserves the benefit of the doubt.
