I just submitted mine to the list, but I have nothing on the guy who made the walking dead pumpkin

Bummer more people didnt participate

Hey sorry about whatever we were arguing about earlier too, I tend to get riled up easily these days because no one likes to argue with me anymore it seems (perhaps I should go to law school?) and when I get started I really enjoy the argument for the sake of arguing. Nothing personal chief.

Sorry for the inconvenience, @<a rel="nofollow" href="http://videosift.com/member/Sublime" title="member since October 27th, 2011" class="profilelink">Sublime, but I've fixed your comment. (We have a lot of filters in place for brand-new members because we get a lot of spam.)

Those are some phenomenal carvings. Did you carve freehand or transfer a sketch? Do you use any professional carving equipment?

Whoever decided to put the little chat thing at the bottom of the videos is my new personal hero.

My only worry though, is good discussion will happen in chat instead of in comments and we will lose quality commentary in one place or the other. Does the chat history stay on the video?

I often wonder about that and fast food. Maybe you've heard of the cheeseburger bill before, maybe not. And while Super Size Me seemed a bit exaggerated at times the results he was getting from his doctor were SCARY. And while things like cigarettes and alcohol come with warnings from the surgeon general, fast food, in spite of the evidence that it's horrible for you, is protected by the aforementioned bill AND the public is under-educated about how dangerous it really is.

It's just a matter of time before we move on to soylent green for the masses. Oh wait...

In reply to this comment by peggedbea:
the cost of food isn't high enough yet. historically, people are generally complacent with letting the ruling class do whatever as long as they can afford food and expect a reasonably brighter future. i wonder if part of the reason we subsidize agriculture is to keep food prices artificially low longer to avoid social unrest. and then there's fast food. which consistently remains cheap. my paranoid brain is starting to formulate fast food as social control conspiracies. also, google holodomor. and think about monsanto.

i think we've all given up on the "brighter future" part... and food prices keep fluctuating.. it's coming though, don't worry. the rest of us will join you soon. as soon as we can no longer afford a mcrib. >> ^rottenseed:

Why isn't USAmerica rioting? I am. It's just me though.

Like i said I did turn off my ad blockers and even disabled all of my addons after the install. idk what the deal is but for now im dealing with ads and using chrome. If you're not having any problems, and no one else i know is it must just be me but idk what the deal is. I havnt installed anything new. hmmm *scratches head*

In reply to this comment by lucky760:
Have you tried disabling any ad blocking software you might have running? Do you have javascript disabled?

Can you install Firebug and see if it's reporting any errors?

Can you take a screenshot so I can see what you're seeing? Sounds like an issue on your computer. I've been using the site on several computers (and phones) today and haven't had any issues. When did your problems start?

In reply to this comment by JiggaJonson:
I'm having a lot of problems surfing the site with Firefox specifically. I turned off all addons and reinstalled and still they persist.

Problems include:
Lack of formating (everything right aligned and not layed out on page and no background just white)
Unable to see comments - When i click on comments it takes me to comment box but i still cant see them.
Sift lounge not working.

I also reinstalled Flash and Java just incase that was the issue. But if i switch browsers (on Chrome now but I also tried on IE) everything is fine.

Just heads up, idk what the deal is.

Since I'm a teacher and I use FB as an outlet for my political views shared with family and friends I keep the privacy settings up to max (to keep students out of my biz).

If I can make an individual post public im not sure how, if not, just dont put em in the pot for the prize, no biggie. At least my friends can see it though :-D

Side note: I'd love to actually BUY those but it's hard to justify spending $20 on marshmallows. Any chance on lowering the price on something that seems to have an insanely high markup? I can buy marshmallows for $1 and a bottle of caffeine speed for $4.

Believe it or don't, the markup is actually very low. The high cost is likely due to the Ghostbusters licensing involved.

Although I largely disagree with shinyblurry, I will concede that if we were not a civilized society, people with either physical or mental disabilities would be at a much greater risk of death. MOST new genetic mutations are deleterious, that is to say, they cause harm to their respective owners. And while I fully understand that Darwin didn't coin the phrase, it doesn't change the idea that some people are vexed by their genes in one way or another.

However, I DO agree that writing said people off as "genetic baggage," as he put it, is callus and unkind. We could just as easily say that "love" is simply a chemical reaction in the brain, and can be written off as such. But it's the value we place on those feelings, the choices we make to assign it meaning, much like the choices we make to care for one another, that give our own lives meaning and purpose.

In reply to this comment by peggedbea:
you don't know what i do for a living, so i'll skip the part where i yell at you passionately kids with downs/people with disabilities/kids with syndromes.
furthermore, survival of the fittest was not a phrase coined by darwin. and did not originally apply to the evolution of organisms. applying it to people with genetic disorders further offends me.

You know, it wouldnt hurt to admit you were wrong about the cycling thing. If you dont plan to, I guess I'll see u on the news the next time you rage at a cyclist who is in your way, "disrespecting," you and who "doesn't deserve to live."

If you honestly do think you're in the right, I think you should seriously reevaluate your own values.
