Star Trek XI Trailer
Eh, beats a bunch of geriatrics in zimmer frames yelling "Oy vey, not with the Klingons again!!!"
John Williams' greatest themes
Both of the other composers listed her... hmmm, let's put their themes up against William's themes in a popular recognition poll.
There's no competition at all, Williams has created more memorable/iconic movie themes than any other composer. There are other brilliant composers out there (I love Hans Zimmer's work), and there are themes which will be instantly recognizable to most people that are written by others. But a single composer writing so many themes that are so well known... come on, no contest.
True Romance - great "I love you" scene!
i love the films score, Hans Zimmer is a genius.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3: Hoist the Colors
I did find this to be a ballsy start to the third movie, hanging a young boy... I found it pretty moving (but I do have 3 boys of my own, so that explains it a lot I guess).
And yeah, the composer, Hans Zimmer and Director Gore Verbinski wrote the song together and yes, it is a general piece on the dangers of this sort of power, and as such does play to the current us government.

>> ^schmawy:
I'm saw this in the theater, and I can't be the only one who saw it as an open criticism of the current administration's policies in the TWAT (The War Against Terror).
In the bonus features for the Blu-Ray I saw of this, there was some mention about something like this. I forgot the specifics though. The composer (Hans Zimmer?) said something about the song being connected to modern day politics and economics.
Your Emperor is Pleased to Give You The Barbarian Horde!
*Long but so worth it! One of the best epic movies. Hans Zimmer also did great work with the soundtrack.
The Thin Red Line - 1998 - Trailer
The soundtrack is by Hans Zimmer. The film is by Terrence Malick. The way you've constructed your description makes it look like Hans directed the film. No biggie.
Cautionary Tales of Swords
Ant:
The music during the death scene is from Hans Zimmer's soundtrack to The Thin Red Line. Specifically, it's the third track, Journey To The Line.
A Tribute to Some of the Best Movie Soundtracks of All Time
Good stuff. HaricotVert and Nebosuke are making good suggestions (Zimmer's work for The Gladiator is outstanding), but for a true tribute to movie soundtracks, you got to include John Barry.
A Tribute to Some of the Best Movie Soundtracks of All Time
Uhm... Danny Elfman? Howard Shore? Mercifully, they included Hans Zimmer...
GLADIATOR - The Battle/"I will have my vengeance"
The soundtrack(s) by Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard are fantastic.
Worth repeated listens without the movie.
Hummingbird Personal Hovering Platform
Alternate title: "Salvador Dali's Zimmer Frame"
Art of the Saber
Story:
A light saber fight sequence with the flavor of a Hong Kong martial arts action movie. This short is set in a dense forest of an unknown planet, where a young Jedi, eager to fight to help the Revolution, clashes with a Sith Lord in a battle where only one will remain standing. Music by Hans Zimmer, and a monologue extracted from an authentic Civil War love letter written in 1861, help to set the tone for this movie.

This is probably my favorite saber fight out there, simply because they went beyond just putting in a fight and they added an entire good short story with emotion
