Conservative radio hosts gets waterboarded, calls it Torture

This guy lasted a few seconds and cracked. He wasn't tied down (shoe lace binding? come on), nor punished with beatings while this was going on. He could stop when he wanted.
Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who says water boarding is not torture, should be water boarded. But if they 'tap out', they admit that its toture.

Any torture denier who volunteers to be water boarded should be given the full experience. Strap them down tight, yell at them, and start pouring, when they tap out, keep pouring, until they're thrashing against their bindings. All the while asking them if they murdered their mothers not stopping until you get an affirmative answer. Then let them up, sobbing and wheezing, having pissed and shit themselves from fright. Then you can ask them if it's torture.

"...have to hold themselves fully accountable to the law. And that is the problem the Republicans and conservatives have"

Why do people continually make distinctions between republicrats and demicons? Party affiliation has very little to do with this issue. So what if water boarding is torture or not? For some, having to listen to people take sides with either party while discussing the politics of the United States is torture. For some, it's excruciating torture to have people who are seemingly educated, with the alleged ability to think critically, continually taking sides with one hydra's head or the other-Almost as mind-numbingly mundane as seeing video after video on the dead-horse subject of whether or not water boarding is torture.
Jesus, why not discuss whether or not the programming of a nation to take one side or the other on an issue is acceptable or healthy? Robotic media junkies with walking papers from the majority of secondary schools or universities in the western hemisphere somehow tend to become more and more self-righteous and religious in their fervor, as the geopolitical chaos becomes increasingly non-linear.

The semantics of the present day represented in a great deal of threads here on Videosift with political themes is what is torture...the English language being daily butchered to include more "newsspeak" at the sacrifice of common sense and intuition. It's painful to watch as the space on these servers is clogged with more and more armchair editorials of political events by lackeys and dupes who watch too much goddamn television.

Been lurking here for some time and and felt the need to address what should be obvious to most people satisfied with such diversion: That discussing these subjects ad-infinitum is counter-productive and a waste of brain time. Why belabor and moan while ignoring the masterful deception of news organizations in keeping the people of a nation preoccupied with simple symptoms of a greater problem-That of what is now an obvious puppet government in the U.S., and a nation whose peoples become more moronic and unable to process simple information with each new generation, who are convinced that more laws, and more prohibitions are the obvious way to repair the damage. Shut up about water boards, Gitmo, republicans and democrats, police brutality, etc already. Everyone let the shit get this way, no one is without fault. For fucks' sake, ween yourselves of the use of traditional currency for a change or learn some applicable skill to make your life on police planet a bit more comfortable and enjoyable for you and yours.
Happy to have offended the misguided sensibilities of the majority.

I'm against Torture, including water boarding. Its UnAmerican to do. When it is done, the person(s) responsible either for authorizing it, or proceeding, have to hold themselves fully accountable to the law. And that is the problem the Republicans and conservatives have. They do not want to be held accountable to things they did, that are not just illegal, but out right immoral!

I think Mr. Olbermann offered Hannity $1000/second. And Mr. Hannity has not taken the bet. He knows he's full of sh*t, just like all the other conservatives. This guy now has admited it. Only time will tell how deep his resolve is, to say what he experienced his torture.

I saw we take every conservative and liberal, along with anyone in the middle that thinks waterboarding and 'enhanced interrogation techiques" are not TORTURE, and waterboard 'em for three hours.

Now, anyone who knows this stuff *IS* torture, understands this action is wrong on so many levels. So, we'll have a safety net in place. If these individuals 'tap out', they admit that water boarding is torture. We ask them while they are just laying on the board, sopping water. And when the answer is not "yes", we keep water boarding them.

While we are doing this, to former Bush cabinet members like Mr Cheney, we find out WHO signed off on this, WHO did this, and WHY they thought this wasn't insane.

I doubt any of these people that say water boarding or "enhanced interrogation techniques" *ISNT* torture.

BTW, we make sure Mr. Hannity gets it, but ignores his tap out. After all, FOX 'journalists' should experienced this as those enemy combatants did.

Most of the people advocating water boarding are empty headed sheep who couldn't think and tie their shoelaces at the same time.

It's immoral! In my worldview (non-religious), that means that it does more damage than good to the person or group PERFORMING the act in the long term. What goes around comes around, and I mean that in a very literal, non-karmic kind of way. The US had established itself as a high-value society, and that is gone now. That means nobody in the world is going to get upset when our citizens get captured and tortured now. We had everybody behind us after 9/11, and now we have nobody behind us.

And why did we throw away our integrity? To prop up the lies that allowed us to invade a country with vast oil reserves. That's it. No ticking bomb. No network of terrorists. Just lies upon lies, for money and transitory power.

It is so clear to me that the Bush administration could signal the imminent fall of the US as a top player on the world stage, and these so-called patriots open their mouths to spew talking points in an effort to defend it. Defending actions which could very well destroy this country from the inside out. Yeah, real patriots.

Yes, because water boarding is a violation of the 8th amendement to the US consitition:

"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

Jesse is correct, in that we could use the same arguement Fox News and the GOP uses on gang members that aren't US citizens. We dont do it, because it is WRONG. The guy he argues with, should be water boarded on live TV.

He makes a final point, of, what sort of country are we? One of laws and civilty, or one of fear and paranoia?

Water boarding might not be enough anymore, them terrorists probably prepare for that technique by now. The next step would probably be to torture the terrorist's wife and kids in front of the their eyes, right QM?

Ah, all good and well in the name of the US of A.

Really scary that someone can be against 'torture' but ok with 'enhanced interrogation'... to be able to accept EXACTLY the same thing when just renamed is so incredibly dumb.

Some people are alright with water boarding because the general image of torture is stuff like cutting off someone's finger or doing something painful. The rewording works because water boarding -appears- not to actually harm the victim.

Like the one video where the man's logic was, 'Well I can hold my breath for thirty seconds easily, how hard can this be?'. Throw in a healthy dose of fearing the enemy into all of this and many many people look no further. TA-DA enhanced interrogation it is!

Then of course there's a more base outlook by some that goes along the lines of, 'Well it's either us or them, so F'em. Do whatever you need to.', which is a side I think some people cover up when they speak on these issues.

I like how everyone gets kinda quiet when Jesse suggests we only water board Muslims, the truth is a bit uncomfortable sometimes eh.

I love how Elizabeth keeps trying to get the moral high ground, and get's promptly thrown down every time. Trying to compare it to the guy being rescued from the pirates, saying water boarding got the information from the one terrorist, trying to make it all Pelosi's fault, 'enhanced interrogation', she's doing the denial twist all over the place.

Obama Refuses to Release Torture Photographs

gwiz665 says...

I want to see the photos released, because pictures persuade much, much better than words. And if they were released, there would be a good chance that the responsible people would be properly punished.

"Man tortured" does very little

Showing a guy being water boarded, does a lot.

I want the goddamn responsible people to squirm and the people that don't believe it to see the extent of what they supported.

2.We called water boarding torture when the Japanese did it to our soldiers. How can we justify authorizing it's use today?

Heated Torture Debate: Coulter, Estrich, Pirro, and Geraldo!

rougy says...

In short, being water-boarded is like being killed.

Every time a person is subjected to that torture, they think they are dying.

It is a grisly, sadistic procedure that leaves the subject psychologically scared for life.
