Huckabee's shameful use of the cross courting Christians... (Wtf Talk Post)
It's not quite a double standard. Huckabee couldn't get through a 5 minute interview without quoting the bible, mentioning Christ by name, or making a reference to The Lord.
The media pounced on that ad, mostly out of admiration of the borderline subliminal message, and then in the process of admiring it figured they'd ramble on about the use of religion in campaigns.
They could've just talked about the ad where he had the text "Christian Leader" writ large under a picture of him, but it was too blunt to get their juices flowing.
As far as direct mail ads, they've all done it. I've seen similar from Hillary, McCain, and Guiliani, even.
Obama has extra incentive to tout it, since there's this rumor about him being a muslim going around...
Fox News Subliminal Opening
"Seriously? I could bearly even see that clip at regular speed... No way I could recognize who it was."
That's why it's called subliminal. The point is for you NOT to see it real time, but sub-consciously. Even though subliminal messages have never been proven to work, it's quite sneaky.

Then when they show the North Carolina results where Obama beats Clinton, a golden check mark lands next to Obama's name, and Clinton's name washes out in dark blue.
No subliminal messages here. Move along.
The check-mark means the results were final. You'll notice the crawl says a large county in Indiana in which Obama was expected to do well had not reported many votes, so nobody was putting a gold check-mark to the 51% to 49% win for Hillary until they were sure Gary, Indiana wasn't going to tie it up for Sen. Obama.
If you're a Hillary supporter you're projecting your bias; if not, well, try to take in all the info before berating a news network for doing their job.
It's Over.

It's interesting when you watch the graphics at the bottom of the screen.
When they show the Indiana results Clinton has beaten Obama 51% to 49%.
Then when they show the North Carolina results where Obama beats Clinton, a golden check mark lands next to Obama's name, and Clinton's name washes out in dark blue.
No subliminal messages here. Move along.
That's because at the time they had not yet called Indiana, while North Carolina had been called the second polls closed (and at the time, Obama was up 14% with 99% reporting, an obvious win).
If you're looking for subliminal messages in the crawl, keep in mind that there's nothing subliminal or subtle about what the talking head is saying in the upper portion of the screen.
Also, given the status of the results, it's fair that they're giving subliminal cues that Obama won North Carolina, and Indiana was still up in the air.
It's Over.

the quest begins... (Blog Entry by smibbo)
That radio static has evil subliminal messages. I saw it in this movie once so it must be true.
The Beatles - Maxwell's Silver Hammer (cartoon)
It seems pretty clear that Charles Manson just made up all that stuff about "Helter Skelter" having subliminal messages and actually based his life on this song instead.
Bush's Infamous Subliminal 2000 Campaign Ad
Honestly, I couldn't find the subliminal message without checking the comments on YouTube, but now that I know what it is, it's so easy to see.
I love how Bush has lived up to this commercial's claim, though.
The Most Violent Campaign Ad You Will See Today

The Most Violent Campaign Ad You Will See Today

Who remembers Alf?
The downfall of modern civilization, according to most historians, started with this seemingly innocent show. Most Scientologists differ with this viewpoint, however, and claim that Alf was actually the grandson of Xenu brought to life.
As for me, I think it was a Democratic ploy for rampant immorality and subliminal messages promoting drug use and teen promiscuity. I don't have any hard data to back that up, but that's never stopped me before.
Colormation Screen Test
i'm pretty sure this clip is trying to plant subliminal messages in my eyeballz.
captain scott needs running lessons.
Rudy Giuliani "The Ron Paul People Are All Over the Country"
LOL, pause it at 1:00 (-0:33) and look at the subliminal message at the bottom of the screen.
Homer and the Swear Jar
Did anybody else notice the subliminal message about 3 minutes in?
Flanders says:
Homer I have a bone to pick with you...
All of us pull a few boners now and then, go off half cocked...
I don't want to be hard on you...
Honest (and wonderfully profane) car dealer commercial
I knew there were subliminal messages in car commercials
