Um yeah, you know what makes me afraid to ride a bike in my city? Its not the idea of needing a helmet, its seeing the God awful drivers around my city. They have a hard time seeing me and not suddenly pulling into my lane when I'm driving a red 3k pound vehicle. I was in a near miss the other day when the car that had been driving next to me suddenly decided my lane was the one to be in. Our cars got so close I think a gnat that just happened to be between them got squished. So yeah no way in hell I'd ride a bike on the streets of this city. Even where they have bike lanes they've decided to measure about a foot away from the curb and paint a line down the normal street. So bikers have this tiny lane to stick too, and the people in cars, who already have a hard fucking time staying in their own lane, now have less room.
So yeah, I'd wager the rest of the world's cities that aren't so concerned about the danger needing a helmet might produce, and more about the danger of morons driving 2 ton boxes of steel and glass at 50 mph or more and their effect on you if the slam into you.


Are you from the US? If yes, I can understand why you wouldn't wanna ride a bicycle. On different occasions, different US friends of mine noticed independently that there are fewer car accidents in Europe/Germany. Then I researched a bit and found out that US driving tests are far easier than the german tests are; and the US tests are very possibly kept easy to have as many drivers on the roads as possible, influenced by the car and gas-industry.

On the subject of Game of Thrones I do agree that they have pushed through it very fast. While it is quite similar to the first book and I'm loving it, the pace is extremely fast. I suppose thats what you have to do when you need to squish a 1000 page book into 12 episodes. And yes the actress who plays Danaerys is easily the worst in the show. But she is 'just out of the gate' to be sure and they had to find an actress who would be willing to go fully nude.

And IMHO Stephen Merchant was born to play Wheatly!

They are kinda cute though.

This trailer had more plot than the entire movie Skyline, which was a recent forgettable about aliens invading LA. Although the guy from Scrubs got squished, that was fun.


I think if an alien race wanted to wipe us out and take our resources, then they would just use some chemical/biological/radioactive agent sent from space and skip all the ground-war BS. You could take the first 3/4ths of the movie The Happening, then just add some alien scenes at the end instead of all the "mother nature fighting back" crap.

But really all you need in a Sci-Fi movie is Mila Kunis and Summer Glau making out at some point. Hollywood Gold.

Quite honestly, to try and make this about Palin or anybody else shows a similar sort of hate-driven mental outlook to what was motivated the waste of skin pulling the trigger. Those of you guilty of such hate-driven bias really need to take a good long hard look in the mirror. When the first thing that you think of is not, "What an awful human tragedy" but instead "How can I squish this event into my political worldview?" then you have truly lost an important part of yourself. Those of this ilk need to take some time off from hating the 'other guy' and try to piece back together whatever scraps of humanity are left in you.

I don't blame Palin, she is a self-serving money whore. I blame the rhetoric. I hear tyranny over taxes. Well, a tyranny rapes its people, mutilates opposers, burns chuches... Yet, the talk is that America is headed there. What else are sheeple to do but pull out guns? And reload?

Fun to watch. I remember doing something similar in SWG, taking on a giant 3-story tall turtle thing (tortur on Talus) shortly after the game launched as a complete noob with roughly 30-40 other complete noobs. Not a planned event, just a bunch of people getting together and trying some (chaotic) teamwork against a target that could by rights squish any single one of us in 1-3 hits or so.
