Enterprise-D Virtual Tour
Maybe it's because I was a teenager during TNG....but I had the nostalgia tears when the music played while entering the hangar. Very beautiful sim.
ANT SIMULATOR THE GAME
Sim Ant?
Little Help Needed from Anyone with an iPhone 5 (Sift Talk Post)
It does have an active sim, but didn't need it for this.
Ah, I thought it still had a phone service. I have the original iPod Touch G1 given to me a few years ago.
A tanker captain threads the needle...
How was this shot? Helicopter? Drone? I thought I was watching SIM city play out for a moment.
Graham 1, Trump Nil
Guess it isn't as visually satisfying as smashing a micro sim.
I don't think he quite gets the difference between a phone and a phone number ...
Is reality real? Call of Duty May Have the Answer
Ludus Sim 0.42
Disregard, I mark this each time we get here.
Should be out of beta soon.
What if the Universe is a Computer Simulation?
@robdot
This is a much better *quality video about the universe as a computer sim.
Real scientific discussion is much better that Vice hipster or CoD streamer/casters attempting to explain things they barely understand.
Is reality real? Call of Duty May Have the Answer
So if someone is gonna make a simulation of the universe..
It would likely be some Fermi Lab scientist who wanted to study the Big Bang.
They would reverse engineer the expansion of the universe as much as possible..
[ a thing that's already been done and being tweaked to get even better Planck length "resolution", as it were ]
And once they got the best estimations..
Would dump all those rules and variables into a quantum computer and run sim after sim, checking to see WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END!
Much like The Game of Life sim developed by mathematician John Conway.
McLaren F1 - The Details
Jaguar XJ220 is still my dream car, but I do love the sound of the McLaren.
Best sim experience for either is probably Test Drive Unlimited 1 where you can race either around Oahu in Hawaii.
The Backwards Brain Bicycle
Similar to switching between flight sims and ground vehicle sims. I just can't imagine playing a flight sim like an FPS, or vice versa, despite being able to excell at both.
Back in the days, Y axis mapping was neither standardised nor adjustable, so many of us went through this back and forth countless times. As a result, it takes me just a few seconds to adjust to an inverted Y axis on an input device.
An inverted X axis on the other hand wrecks my brain in any fast-paced situation.
TIE Fighter - Epic Anime short - Go Empire!!
I never got into the TIE Fighter or X-Wing games, my space sim experience of that era was all Wing Commander.
BUT, that video made me incredibly nostalgic for Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed, the space sim expansion to the MMO. Actually had really well modeled craft, customizable component loadouts, etc. I miss SWG a lot, and JTL in particular. Guess I'll wait a few more years for SWGEmu, right now the ground game is fairly solid but JTL is still in the pretty distant future.

THE AMIGA YEARS!
Monkey Island. That along with the original Sim City were my absolute favorite games when I was a teenager.
I'd love to go back and play Monkey Island one of these days. If only I could free up some time from all my videosift watching time.
The Making of Elite: Dangerous
I'm a SC guy, but upvote for any resurgence of the PC Space SIm.
Elite: Dangerous - Beta 3
My recommendation, from cheaper to more expensive:
Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS, Saitek X-52 or Pro, CH Fighterstick + Throttle, Warthog.
Only the Thrustmaster (but not the Warthog) and Saitek stuff will have a twist rudder axis, which is a convenience for space sims. I hear good things about the HOTAS-X, and in the States it's only about $50 or so, so it's cheapest by far but wants a bit for buttons and HAT switches.
Personally, I'd go cheaper on the control setup if it meant you could also afford a head tracking setup like a TrackIR (ideally) or an ED Tracker.
I have a bunch of this stuff because I'm a flight sim nerd, but for Elite Dangerous I use the throttle from a Saitek X-65 and a Logitech Extreme 3D stick.
