Vancouver - Expo 86 - Part III- GM Holographic Exhibit

Odd. I have no memory of him at all. Perhaps I just somehow missed him the whole time I was there.
Did he talk, just wave his arms, roll around, or what? Was it just a guy in a robot suit, or a real robot, or a remotely controlled fake robot, or what?

That was him! Dude, he was big and popular outdoor. I totally loved him.

Aliens Power Loader Baby Costume

blahpook says...

YouTube Description:

My Daughter and I went to a Halloween Party dressed as the Power Loader from "Aliens." I love Halloween, and I wanted to create a costume that my daughter and I could share. She was amazingly content the whole night, and enjoyed looking at everybody else's costumes!I built this robot suit in two nights and a day out of cardboard boxes and hot glue. My baby girl rides comfortably in a Baby Bjorn with the roll cage protecting her. The entire costume only weighs about ten pounds, plus baby.My highest priority was keeping my little girl safe, so the costume was designed for mobility and quick exit in case of emergency. The boots are basically cardboard slippers that could pop right off. With a shrug of my shoulders, I could pop the arms right off. What you can't see from the video is that there are no bottoms on the robot arms, so my human arms were completely free and unimpeded. I could leave the claws hanging idle from the shoulder joints while I could address any of my girl's needs. I would have had to take the suit off to changer her diaper, though! The internet has been amazingly kind and positive about this outfit. Thank you for all of the amazing comments and compliments you have posted about my little girl!

You never got hugged as a child. Did you?

Why do you have a problem with me pointing out that this is 99% sure to be a 'hoax'? It's being reported everywhere as real (although a number are saying the video has the whiff of fake about it), and it irks me how readily people fall for things online.

If this were being shown as 'Hey, look at this cool art project' or 'Look at this thing that a guy built in his shed, isn't it awesome? Doesn't really 'do' much, but it's cool' then it'd be a cool video.

But it's being reported everywhere as a REAL robot suit you can really order for 1.3 Million and it'll really do what the video promises.

Would you prefer I just say 'AWESOME! TAKE MY MONEY! I WANT ONE! GIMME! I FOR ONE WELCOME OUR NEW ROBOT OVERLORDS!'?

Texas wants the Scientific Method out of schools

choggie says...

^Now that's a moronic fucking statement. Ever been to Rhode Island??

Seriously, the same type of sophomoric generalizations, over and over and over and over again. There are a few users here on VS from Texas. This one in particular believes that the insipid argument for or against creationism vs. evolution relative to public education in the states, is only engaged in by morons who somehow conclude that to simply have this argument settled once and for all would somehow detract from the fact that public "education" in the US is cranking out developmentally disabled robots....suited for upon completion of 12 years of the shit, food service, government employment, or highway construction work. Improve the quality?? Ban idiocy and burn them to the ground!
Public schools have become total shit, as have the majority of universities in this continent. Evolution VS Creationism??? Another on a series of goddamn diversions.
