Tenga Eggs - When A Tissue Isn't Enough
>> ^sillma:
Funny how it still seems to be that men have to be loathed when they use masturbation toys when for women it's like a rite of passage to adulthood.
That's because men are born with two perfect masturbation toys attached to their arms. Buying an additional one is just a waste of money.

Cato Experts Dissect Obama's Health Care Town Hall Meeting
What gives the Government the legal standing to issue health care? There is no rite given to the FED by the Bill or rights nor the Constitution.
Health care is a choice not a rite. Obama is wrong, and the Left leaning American people don't know shit about government. Being Fair has nothing to with government.
Beside the government can not do anything efficiently, Its not supposed to. It's not set up to be efficient.
Ken Kesey talks about Neal Cassady
On the Road is a rite of passage.
It is quintessentially American.
It is innocent and earnest and brave, and for the most part, true.
There was a mythos in the story that reminds us of the mythos in our lives.
Bill Moyers and Issac Asimov conversation from late 80's
They get around to a lot of very good points. The bit about the end of schooling as a rite of passage is interesting... But kids, like all people, will always react opposite to the coercion they experience, I guess.
liberty (Politics Talk Post)
^ I love Lord of the Flies! Great story. It uses fear quite well to demonstrate human nature is willed toward control and authority in a democracy. I wonder if Simon would still be alive if he had a gun to protect himself instead of relying on the power of the group to do so? Probably so seeing how it was the group that killed him during their ritual rites that everyone was forced to partake in (force is democracy in action).
Also, a good Constitutional Republic would've helped those poor boys out. A nice writ of law (If only Ralph was Madison!) to protect individual rights to life and property, but also one that is limited enough where democracy (51% telling the other 49% what to do) cannot affect it.
But, I suppose that wasn't the point of the story, was it? Thanks for the Libertarian example.
(Fun fact: George Orwell was also a Tory-Anarchist where the term 'tory' is synonymous with Conservative.)
We Didn't Start the Flame War
It's like talking to someone who truly understands me. Am I rite?

Media has a responsibility not to traffic in fear!
In other news, Obama has a third nipple, rides a broomstick and causes cats to spontaneously implode.
Remind anyone of anything..? (The Crucible, 1996)
The movie is centered around the Salem Massachusetts witch trials of 1692. The movie is based on the play "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller. He also wrote the screen play adaptation. Written by {dfmarean@Cove.com}
A small group of teen girls in 1692 Salem, Massachusetts caught in an innocent conjuring of love potions to catch young men are forced to tell lies that Satan had invaded them and forced them to participate in the rites and are then forced to name those involved.
Thrown into the mix are greedy preachers and other major landowners trying to steal others' land and one young woman (Ryder) infatuated with a married man (Day-Lewis) and determined to get rid of his innocent wife (Allen).
Arthur Miller wrote the events and the subsequent trials where those who demanded thier innocence were executed, those who would not name names were incarcerated and tortured, and those who admitted their guilt were immediately freed as a parable of the Congressional Communist witch hunts led by Senator Joe McCarthy in 1950's America.

San Francisco to Introduce Marijuana Legalization Bill
Wait, a politician is suggesting something intelligent that doesn't fit the cookie cutter moral code the media has forced onto the world? Please forgive that run on sentence, I'm just in shock!
I keep feeling the ground to see if hell has frozen over.
I guess that will only happen if the bill passes.
I really hope this goes through. It will help every resident of California in one way or another. The additional money the state would make from taxes, the money not wasted on catching, prosecuting and imprisoning non violent offenders. Not to mention the decline in illegal drug dealers. No ones going to go buy from that guy in the shady part of town when they can go to Rite Aid or whatever. Hopefully this is the start of the country thinking logically for once.

"A Dangerous Way To Remove One's Show" or Shoe?
I've tried reading it the former way and really can't quite get the context in which it makes sense to place show in there.
I've just spent 7 hours squinting at that sentence and visualising myself in that situation. I've got through a whole jar of coffee doing so and I'm finding it difficult to type. I'll feel stupid if it's just because of a typo. Especially as the coffee money was the last part of my money and supposed to be for paying for my tea bags.
Also when I finally came to the realisation that it might be a typo I went through every letter of the alphabet before finally getting to 'e' and the penny dropped. I mean actually it's ridiculous I tried all the letters, but get this:
What the fuck is a 'shop'?
Bach, Toccata and Fugue in d arranged for Timpani and Piano
I'll second DFT's recommendation on Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring. The percussion parts are amazing there.
This is interesting but as mentioned above this may not be a good example of precision timpani playing, not an easy arrangement I'd assume.
