i do not know the particulars on how you all conversed in private.its none of my business and not my place to judge.

but if what you are saying is true newt (and i have no reason to believe it isnt.there is a past precedent in that regard) then i have to ask @chingalera why?

why say one thing in private and then another in public?

@chingalera i realize that much of what you do is to shock people out of complacency.
to get them to perceive a situation with different goggles.
many times the weapons you use are confrontational language and a persistence that rivals the most glorious case of OCD.

those intentions are noble.
i agree and am of a similar mindset.this is probably why i can read choggie-speak with little trouble.

i understand what you are trying to do.

but how can you expect someone like @newtboy to listen to anything you have to say when you cant keep even basic correspondence open and honest?
it invalidates everything you attempt from then on out.
your words have to have the weight of your integrity behind them for them to have ANY impact.

@chingalera keeps the locals buzzing,constantly challenging pre-concieved notions and ideologies and i love that fucker for that.he keeps this site interesting.his antics bring lurkers to actually comment/post and others who usually side-line to jump in.

Now, I for one, value anyone's and everyone's right to speak their opinion. It helps generate debate and no one should ever be silenced. But as long as it's done constructively and with thought. It seemed to me (and others), that both of these offenders trolled half the time, cruising the Sift boulevards, looking for attention...regardless of whether it was good or bad attention. If they've matured and can be decent members of the community again, then by all means. But if they can't go a week without getting their panties in a twist, then I say keep the lock on the gate.

The DEA and the RCMP both agree that its dangerous to educate the public about the difference in drugs. When conducting the War on Drugs they categorize Marijuana with Heroine and Meth, there is no difference to them.

Personally I am all for drug enforcement, I have old friends who have had bad experiences with hard drugs. It's very easy for a kid to become a drug dealer and as long as marijuana is illegal it will always be a stepping stone for teenage dealers and the friends they deal too. As kids grow up there will always be the gangsta/mobster/kingpin wannabees who move on to sell harder drugs. DEA and RCMP should be using their billions of dollars to tackle the drugs and dealers that actually harm communities.

In my neighbourhood we have peaceful adult pot dealers who are cool, calm, relaxed and working individuals, but we also have shady hard dealers who bring riff raff into our neighbourhood. The cops all over north america treat the pot dealers the same as hard dealers, I feel most people agree that with the money spent on the "war on drugs" is being spent inefficiently, I would hope our society isn't going to spend another decade practicing the status quo of throwing people in jail. Hard drug use is up up up we are failing, time to fix it. After all it is our tax money that pays for this system.

Yet I still think that showing the reality of the war, however flawed, will hasten the war's end, however slow the process may be.

Also, in every interview and article that I've read, the number one nemesis to the Vietnam war, according to the war's proponents, was media coverage.

Another good point, but I think I agree with Irishman. True, it might happen, but it's not a given. And if it does happen, there's no reason that I can see why the mods of this site can't rollback the rules until the riff-raff lessens.
