Final 6 minutes of Battlestar Galactica - *MAJOR SPOILERS*
I was pretty happy with the ending, it would have been nicer without the manipulative super being(s) running the scene like something out of RAMA, but the seeds for that plot device/cop out had been in the show since the begining.
I think it was a pretty good send off for all characters and as for the abandon all tech stuff, well, maybe it was partially out of respect for us/our ancestors? Kinda like a spontaneous prime directive moment that everyone bought into after thinking about the utter cluster?§$& the last few years had been and how much of it had been their own doing? And maybe after being basically imprisoned in crappy spaceships never designed for long term habitation everyone wanted a nice slice of nature pie.
Gotta use your imagination to fill in the gaps, TV can never do this escapist stuff on it's own y'know!
The Dashuhua - Molten Iron Against a Wall
I just came across this on Neat-o-Rama. Fucking incredible. I can't wait to promote this. Only one more star point!

Fox News: Palin Threw Tantrums - Made Staff Cry
what is this? past-o-rama? i fell into a time machine and was transported back into a dark age where it was still technically possible for sarah palin to be vice president (after she "gets up to speed" with that world map)
Rama - A Cylindrical World - stunningly beautiful views
I believe Rama did have clouds in the sequels. I liked this series of novels so much I even read the thinly related follow-ups written by Gentry Lee alone... Bright Messengers, and Double Full Moon Night. Both very frustrating reads. I hate Gentry Lee.
I give up. (Politics Talk Post)
I give up too.
There are entirely to many videos on this site. I come here for the neat-o-rama links and to look at peoples avatars.
Maybe we should think about banning videos until I can memorize neat-o-rama's web address and learn to use flickr.
Does anyone know if there's a button somewhere that I could just press?

The Films of Stanley Kubrick
I wish to God Kubric would have made "Rendezvous with Rama." That would have been a sight.
Rama - A Cylindrical World - stunningly beautiful views
Not to be a stickler, but the tag is spelled wrong: it should be rendeZvous with rama.
Rama - A Cylindrical World - stunningly beautiful views
what if we're in one right now? i.e. the universe we live in right now was designed and built for the same reasons that rama was. Something built our universe specifically to inhabitate it. That'd be trippy.
Rama - A Cylindrical World - stunningly beautiful views
^ What he said, they're visible around 1:40.
Rama also had a "cliff" on one side of the central sea...and as I recall, didn't have clouds (though they're a nice touch).

This is SOOOOO what Rama was meant to symbolize in print. I love the concept even if I think the idea is hilariously BS. As for a light source Dag, I believe they thought light-sources from echth end was sufficient.
