Big Fat Quiz is one of the funniest annual shows ever put on television.

If low information voters decide the election then you don't really need to worry about putting out ads that are factually acurate - because they won't check it and won't hear that its misleading from any other sources.

I sometimes wonder what the results of the election would look like if to vote you needed to pass a basic quiz on some irrefutable political facts. Like, idk, where was Obama born for instance.

before watching, gonna take the quiz according to the title:

Cops and what they do.
Lawyers and what they do.
Doctors and what they do.
Criminals and what they do (see cops and what they do).
Airhead roommates (one or all might be gay) and what they do.
Any number of horrifying reality situations with "real" people ~ Otherwise known as Voyeurism.
Any scenario having to do with some bullshit, stylized intelligence organization.
Shows like "Lost" that piss you off and make you wish they would make more big-budget Sci-Fi films based on best-selling novels.

Here's a quick quiz... Two activist groups are accused of being "astroturf". One is the Tea Party - which is accused of being a bought & paid for astroturf campaign of the right. The other is Occupy Wall Street - which is accused of being a bought & paid for astroturf campaign of the left.

The simple fact is that neolibs want a bad guy to demonize. Neolibs and leftists in general are simple, shallow, and vapid - very much like Sorkin and his on-air wet dream that he calls a 'show'. To these narrow-minded creatures, it is unacceptable to see honest, well-intentioned, reasonable everyday citizens opposing their radical agenda items. The Tea Party as a whole has been inoffensive and has as simple, basic message: cut spending. They aren't racists, or violent. They aren't anything close to the Taliban. But truth and reality don't matter to blinkered neolibs who NEED... who desperately CRAVE a man in a cloak with a twirling moustache to hate...
Can't these 20 million disenfranchised voters just pay 10 bucks or so to go get a photo ID that would allow them to vote?
That's not the point. A large portion of the so-called 'disenfranchised' are illegal aliens who should not be allowed to vote. Voter ID laws prevent illegal aliens from voting. Such a simple, common-sense law cannot be allowed by the liberal left as they'd lose out on literally millions of illegal alien votes. Protesting voter ID laws has nothing to do with "disenfranchisement". It has everything to do with preventing illegal voting activity - which all civilized nations do rigorously. I have to have a voter ID card to vote, and display an ID. It in no way disenfranchises ANYONE except those who shouldn't be voting in the first place. Everyone who should legally be allowed to vote already has all the ID that any ID law requires.

Seems a little US-centric to me. Jeopardy's run from 1964- to present with a ten year gap is impressive, and I know it says 'one of the...' but in the interests of Trivia there are a number of UK based shows that beat or equal it, and I'm sure other countries can boast likewise: Round Britain Quiz (since 1947, radio), University Challenge (1962), A Question of Sport (1970) and Mastermind (1972, but with a few years gap) are the obvious ones.

I guess we haven't had quite the scandal here that the US has with quiz shows in the fifties/sixties.

In America, the word "libertarian" has come to mean conservative libertarian (lower right quadrant) and the word "liberal" means left libertarian (lower left quadrant). This is why Neo Conservatives, Neo Liberals, Anti War Capitalists, Anti Capitalist Anarchists and Social Democrats can all consider themselves libertarian. Everyone has their own idea of what liberty means and how to achieve it, be it war, capitalism or democracy.

Also, you can have liberty FROM something (negative liberty) and liberty TO DO something (positive liberty). Both are important. Left libertarianism is more about the positive (equality, civil rights, healthcare, education, social safety net), right libertarianism is more about negative liberty ("individual liberty" -a loaded term imo, lower taxes, less regulation, smaller government, austerity).
