I'm going to write a comment about the video I just watched. It's going to attempt to be witty and perhaps absurd that includes a joke with a punchline intended to be a misdirect. I'll consider something that gets my point across, but is generally neutral and not too inflammatory so as not to rile up people who may have a strong opposing opinion, while still attempting to pander to and entertain those who agree strongly with my school of thought.

I'd like to come up with a great play on words that will catch everyone's attention, preferably something short and memorable, but the fact that the comment has already gone on this long is going to result in all my aspirations for it falling flat.

I'd like to conclude by executing an *invocation, but I know I'll get distracted and submit before I include it, and of course you can't invoke when editing, so I'll just leave the post un-invoked then re-read and re-re-read it and edit again and again trying to improve upon it and hoping I don't come across as a total dipshit, but knowing absolutely that's exactly how I'm coming across.

I got the impression they were waiting for a punchline.

How can this be #1? I just don't get this Phil Dunphy brand of humor, this bland delivery of deliberately clueless shit. At least he edited out the parts where Phil usually stares at the camera, with the silence as some sort of punchline.

Oh, come on. They're not going to show us when they reveal to the guy how he's supposed to use it? I feel cheated of a great punchline.

Funny, but you oversold it and blew the punchline for me.

I was expecting the title to be a sarcastic one and for me to see the boat sink or capsize.

The actual punchline was a pleasant surprise.

Hmm, this one didn't really take off for me. Maybe because I've heard too many of these questions presented non-ironically in real life, or maybe because K&P forgot to include a punchline.

Okay, it had a punchline, thank goodness. I was annoyed and couldn't understand how this was in the Top New Videos until that point.

As as fellow trans person, I think you're taking this too personally. I transitioned at 30 and can related to the feeling that everyone is staring and judging you.

However, the message in this video applies to much more than gays. For instance, the same could be said for Christians who push their views on everyone else. They're not oppressed, they're just assholes. So is anybody who intentionally ignores social cues such as not showing anus pictures at work. I don't care who you are, I don't want to see it. It's a professional setting. Now, if I was at a fetish event about that, then I'd expect it. At work, I expect work stuff.

Not to mention, the asshole in this video illustrates as well that sometimes the people that feel oppressed are actually oppressing the people who are most likely to support them because they are similar.

The fact that one looks "normal" is a simple foil to be used to accentuate the punchline. Nothing more.

The only difference between "racism" and "reverse racism" is that RR is tolerated. eg. Eddie Murphy, Delirious. Plenty of jokes at the expense of white people. Where was the hue and cry?*

Newt's pretty much right, racism is racism. I'm of the opinion that we let everyone crack jokes at everyone else and stop being so fucking sensitive.

With that in mind, we are talking about a comedy bit where the guy uses hyperbole to ramp up to the punchline about white folk not being able to dance... Perhaps we're being a bit too sensitive about it and should just enjoy the joke? ; )

*Not that I'm complaining, that shit was hilarious...
