Yes We Can. Obama stories are shared. What a guy.

enoch says...

@ChaosEngine
never going to happen.
the obama administration has been waging war against whistleblowers for 8 years.prosecuting more whistleblowers using the archaic "espionage act of 1917" to pursue and prosecute more whistleblowers than any other president in americas history COMBINED.

unless there is a massive public outcry to force the executive branch to pardon snowden,it is never going to happen.

but as long as we are making a wishlist to the fairy godmother of shit-that-is-never-going-to-happen,let me add to that list:

1.repeal the NDAA of 2017,which is an addon to the NDAA of 2012,which is a simply continuation of the MCA of 2006 (look em up folks, those "rights" you claim to have are really mere suggestion due to these abominations.

2.pursue and indict ALL wall street players who knowingly engaged in fraud and collapsed the global economy.strip them of all begotten gains to pay back the american people, and throw them in the most vile of maximum prisons (hopefully with a bunkmate nicknamed 'anal destroyer").

3.recind ALL expanded powers that the bush administration enacted (thanks to neocons addington and woo) and which the obama administration actually expanded even further, and NOW trump will be executive over the most powerful executive branch in american history .(this would be a nice one eh?).

4.have the DEA and ATF actually honor obamas original statement that his administration would not pursue federal law in regards to marijuana, mandated by referendums by the citizens of those states (to which he had promptly disregarded, and raided local dispenseries).

5.reduce americas prison population(2.4 million, largest on the planet) by pardoning the non-violent drug offenders, and disallowing companies like nike and apple to abuse prison labor (slave labor).

6.stop the practice of military intervention at the behest of corporations to exploit the poorest and most vulnerable.

7.stop the practice of regime change at the behest..oh this is becoming familiar...corporations wishing to exploit the poorest and most vulnerable for their resources.

8.and could we possibly,maybe..stop with targeted drone strikes? a.k.a "assassinations". how a constitutional law professor reconciles his law pedigree with his "value target tuesday" i.e:murder just boggles my mind.

man,i should stop.my wishlist is becoming to long..and depressing.

i voted this video up because i will not ignore that obama did some good, and even some great things during his presidency, but i also will not ignore his very disturbing failures.

and there are a LOT of disturbing failures.

so i will sit and hold hands and sing kumbaya as we all remember our very smart president, but let us not forget..this very same president expanded an executive branch that trump will be taking over the reigns very soon.

and on that note,i have to give him a failing grade.

I have had the honor of working with some people from both BlackIsle and LookingGlass. You can find BlackIsle folk split between InXile and Obsidian Entertainment, and you can find a new LookingGlass-inspired studio (with a lot of the old crew) at Otherside Entertainment.
It's interesting to see how the right combination of people can produce such magic, because it's not like those developers have gone anywhere. But hopefully that's good news if you follow some developers for the sake of pedigree.

Yeah, I had to get rid of a lot of comics and discarded my magazines as well since then. And I do regret it for sure, but they were such a pain taking up space.

I definitely miss those days but I also am an avid PC gamer still. I think what I miss most about those days were the developers... I mean the studios out there back then were ahead of their time and most fell by the wayside due to publisher problems or what not. I really miss Looking Glass Studios, Black Isle & Bullfrog (& to some degree Bungie releasing something that I actually like). Those studios were irreplaceable, but again - it's all about time and place - even those publishers would have probably hit a sour note at some point and at least we never saw those notes! I remember for example that people really got tired & complained about the Infinity engine from Black Isle/Bioware games. And now look - these days we have games trying to emulate the look & feel (Pillars of Eternity)!

DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION Gameplay Trailer - The Inquisitor

artician says...

Agreed. They've great pedigree, just the wrong decisions lately. I loved DA:O. Didn't touch the sequel simply because they threw away the main element that made it great for me (character-player-centric story.). I might play this, but as all games, try before you buy.
I enjoyed Mass Effect also. I have to look past the extreme production values, but overall the game was fantastic. I have weird tastes though, and today the first of that series was my favorite, while I'd completely checked out by the third installment. (and thus, wasn't as offended by the ending. seems like it was building up to that all along!) Regardless, won't be playing any future iterations, but it was good while it lasted.

Bioware has definitely been moving in the wrong direction. However, I may be a cockeyed optimist but I'm still holding out some hope for this one. OK, Baldur's Gate was a long time ago, but DA:O was a pretty worthy modern successor. DA2 then dropped the ball big time, but I'm still hoping this one can return to form at least partially.

That being said, the stuff I've read recently elsewhere makes me a little bit less optimistic...

Finally a trailer that doesn't make Superman look like a little bitch, maybe it is worth seeing, certainly has a quality pedigree.

I've lived with _____ all my life and have been breeding ______ ____ for about five years now. I can absolutely guarantee the temperament of my _____. Playing with ____ is a great way to teach them where the lines are. Biting is OK, as long as it isn't hard. They can learn where that line is. I can play fight with my big boy Leo (7.5kg Ragdoll) and he mouths me but never hurts me. He never puts his _____ out and it's great fun. You can play with ____, but you do need to teach them where the lines are and be strict about stopping them when they do cross the line. Do this when they're little and they'll be great _____ when they grow up.
Indiscriminate play without teaching is where the problem is but play-fighting with a great big bundle of fluff is great fun and well worth the effort. I just find it a bit more interactive than a toy on a stick.>> ^robbersdog49:

That's better.

>> ^critical_d:
I would recommend not using your hand to play with the kitten. This can reinforce behavior (it's ok to bite fingers) and this will be a problem when they get older and are capable of doing real damage. Try using a feather wand or any of those cat toys that have a string on a stick design. This will still allow you to play interactively with the kitty and the cat will focus on the toy as "prey" and not your hand. A win-win situation for the both of you!
Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to help.

Question for experienced cat owners:
I love playing like this with kittens, especially encouraging them to bite me because I like how it tickles, and I find it cute how ineffectual it is. I've also heard that doing that trains cats to bite people whenever they play, a habit which they retain into adulthood and become those annoying cats that bite your guests. Is that really true, or is it just in the personality of the cat whether they'll bite as an adult?
Thanks!

and yeah, inbreeding is causing severe health problems to a lot of pure breed races. It's horrible. The best dogs are common mutts, rescued from dog pounds. They are usually healthy, and very grateful to be given a home, food and affection.

Indeed.

The Dark Knight Rises - Full Trailer

In its defense, it's not finished (still filming possibly, or at least just wrapped). There are scenes in there that clearly have yet to get a full CG pass... For example, the Batwing at the end, I heard that would be getting CG rotor blades in post-production, and its windows look like they were made of plastic... There's plenty of time for CG polish...
>> ^spoco2:

The explosions on the football field were truly, truly terrible. How can such a big budget film, with such a pedigree, have a such obviously CG effect.
Horrendous.
I'm hoping the film is good, but that bit looks just flat out crap.

TYT - Fox: OWS and Supporters are "parasites"

messenger says...

@chilaxe

I'm not disputing their facts. I'm disputing their pedigree, and thus their probable selective use of facts. Like I said, if career Democrats wrote a book showing how right-wing policies are destroying the world I wouldn't cite it as an independent source because I wouldn't trust it to be impartial.

FWIW, Wikipedia says, "We are the 99% is a political slogan, Internet meme and implicit economic claim that emerged from the "Occupy" protests in 2011." So yes, it's both an economic fact and a term used to refer to supporters of the protest movement themselves. This is in contrast to people who don't support the protest. These people don't define themselves as part of the 99% who are losing out (even though they are). They define themselves as part of the 53% who are "contributing". Either way, if your point is that Cenk should stop confounding the two uses of the term, then yes, I'm with you, and might even send him a note to that effect myself. I took the title straight from the YouTube video.

I hope you don't mind my bringing in a quote of yours from elsewhere:

Liberalism doesn't prefer decay, but it does prefer the conditions that cause decay.

Twice now, your example to support this is California, which isn't something I know anything about, nor am interested in studying in enough depth to argue with you. I can point, instead, to statistics that clearly show that economic inequality in the developed world correlates very strongly with all sorts of social problems.

http://videosift.com/video/Richard-Wilkinson-How-economic-inequality-harms-societies

Notice, I'm not talking about liberal policy or conservative policy or anything ideologically based, just the observable facts. Now, you might think that the only measure of success is some financial indicator, but for me, success can only be measured by high social conditions. Otherwise, what good is money? Money is the means to the end of good conditions. Current American policy helps outrageously rich people become richer at a rate several times that of the rest of the country. In other words, almost all the economic success of your country is being enjoyed by the top 1% simply because of government policy, not because they're doing anything different from what they did in the 50s. Now correlation doesn't entail causation, but it makes more sense that the causal arrow points from the gap to the problems than vice-versa, or from a third unknown factor which causes both the economic gap and the wide array of social "decay" in country after country.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn - Teaser

Does it not worry anyone else that they show NO lips moving AT ALL in this trailer?

It's pretty much always the thing they stuff up with semi-to-uber realistic CGI, it's certainly what sucked about CLU/young Flyn in Tron Legacy (still and awesome movie btw).

Have they done just as badly? Do the characters look crap when doing anything more than just moving around?

I sure hope not, as this has some awesome pedigree.
