Girl Taken from Pot Smoking Parents & Murdered by Foster Mom

aaronfr says...

@deedub81 I'm on board, just a few questions though:

"I can't believe how you all blame the state for this"
All of 'us'? Who exactly?

"and yet you "
Who exactly?

"vote for and defend 'big government' political candidates"
When? Who?

"Take my guns away,"
Who is advocating that?

"give up my privacy in the name of homeland security"
I don't think I've seen a single sifter hold this position

"outlaw everything"
Most sifters are against the War on Drugs, so what is being advocated for outlawing?

Holy WOW. I can't believe how you all blame the state for this, and yet you vote for and defend 'big government' political candidates (left and right). Take my guns away, give up my privacy in the name of homeland security, outlaw everything.

This is a tragedy. The government is scary. Imagine them taking your kid away for a small time thing like smoking pot. I've had my freedom removed from me for a CLERICAL ERROR. Our most sacred rights in this country are voluntarily forfeited because we don't trust our neighbors.

At the end of the day, this is really the fault of that sick foster "mom."

Sad, sad, sad. I got teary eyed about this, too.

Brave Texas woman speaks out against legislators

newtboy says...

Ahhh, more Chingaleraese. It's so difficult to wade through the morass of disjointed thoughts you spout. I think that's your intention with your ramblings. That is typical of Texas rightwingers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqs9DYisSsg
Mixed metaphors and run on thoughts not withstanding, I left Texas because my family moved for business when I was 13, so I didn't 'run from' anything. I did quickly decide that moving back was not in my best interest, because I'm not an anti-abortion, anti-minority, anti-liberal, anti-union, anti-tax, anti-intellectual, anti-evolution, anti-science, anti-education, anti-nonchristian, right wing nutjob.
True, there is no utopia of freedom, but there are certainly far better examples than Texas. In Texas, you have complete freedom to do as they say, but not the freedom to publicly disagree. As someone who has lived in many states, I can say with authority that Texas is one of the most hard nosed, anti 'freedom' states I've lived in. They love to talk about loving freedom, but hate to give it to anyone that thinks even slightly differently from them...consistently. They're simply too stupid or dumb to realize that real freedom means the freedom to do the unpopular, and consistently outlaw the unpopular in the name of freedom and liberty. It's just sad.

I'm so glad I left Texas...where the freedom loving 'conservatives' enjoy the power to control, degrade, and eventually incarcerate anyone that thinks differently. It's hilarious that the right wants to constantly rail against the loss of their 'freedoms' unless it's a freedom to do something they don't like, then it's obviously the right thing to do to outlaw 'X' because it's wrong (in their tiny minds). They don't even see the hypocrisy they're so myopic.
So glad to be out. I loved the land, I liked many of the people, I could not tolerate the insane legislature(s).

Candidate Obama vs President Obama on Government Surveillanc

chingalera says...

Yo Dystop:
My first state of the union address would include costumes, for starters, worn henceforth and according to level of corruption of current members of congress and senate: Data would be of course mined from our resources (those stalwart ass-grabbers of the distinguished intelligence community we have to thank for the dirt we would dredge and release), IMMEDIATELY,!....every phone call, every email every bit of naked boat-parties and teen-aged Thai prettyboys there for all to see…THEN decriminalize all drugs and release all offenders to their respective ends and relatives so charged in the past 100 years, immediately.
I’d make it mandatory that everyone be able to read and write, and provide the necessary means-
Two chickens in every pot
I’d tell everyone the real reason we’re in Afghanistan and will stay the fuck there is for their Lithium, because the world needs batteries to go with the new technology and to go fuck themselves if they don’t like us protecting their poppy fields from angry 4rth century thugs screaming , “AKBAR!”( i.e., I would disclose the actual motivations behind the current clusterfuck..) Oh, I’d have a monthly picnic on the white house lawn holiday, offer federal monies to female athletics, and outlaw fast food chains, billboard advertising, and landlords (I’d work to return ownership of land acquired through unsavory deals by oil-rich cocksuckers, anyone assoc. with any bank scandal in the last 50 years, etc. to the open market for restricted development based on projected models for our world in 50 years)

Just getting started, I’d fuck shit up is the answer to your question, jump-start the place based on the original doc and maybe get another 100 years out of it..

The Australian Victims of Gun Control - John Oliver Part 2

zor says...

In Australia, the government passed a law banning practically all guns then confiscated (read 'buy back') and destroyed them all. News photos showed guns in giant trash compactors and being sawed in half with sparks flying. This is the argument against anyone-especially this administration-who say "we don't really want to take your guns." Mexico is easy. Guns are completely outlawed there and so we see the population as helpless against better armed criminals. All the NRA has to do to defeat even the most simple legislation is bring these two examples up and you're done. That's why there is no hope of compromise.
--i'm not making an argument for or against. I'm only trying to make a correct observation of the condition.

radx says...

Bloody hell, 56k was expensive as hell. I distinctly remember forking over some 400 bucks once at the end of a month in the late '90s, just for having played some Counter-Strike. Outlaws was even earlier, back when you paid for internet access with gold-pressed latinum.

No, sir, no internet gaming for radx during those days. We hauled our rigs into someone's cellar, then played until we ran out of provisions.

@radx ........Now THIS is what I'm talking about, I'd never even heard of "Outlaws" & that piece of music is great!!

"Carmageddon" sounds a wee bit like Prodigy

Edit:- WHOAAA............... "C&C" = Pure WIN!!

What Is Your Favourite Video Game Music? (Videogames Talk Post)

radx says...

Aww, c'mon. You cannot expect me to pick a favorite! After 24 years of gaming on the PC, there's an endless list of themes in my head, one better than the other.

So here's what I came up with in two minutes:
-- Battle Isle 2, epic midi theme
-- The Settlers/Die Siedler, original theme
-- UFO: Enemy Unkown, theme
-- X-COM: Terror from the Deep, geoscape "crap your pants"-theme
-- Outlaws, theme
-- Carmageddon 2, "kill all the fucking pedestrians"-theme

Also add every single track of the Jagged Alliance soundtrack. The original, mind you, not the second installment. And do I even have to mention Hell March or the original C&C?

Edit: ffs, now I have to fire up DOSBox and play Battle Isle until my eyes start to bleed.

Bitcoin Explained

rebuilder says...

As I see it, Bitcoin has use in:

-fast, low-cost electronic (not face-to-face) transactions
-transactions frowned upon or outlawed by governments or other sufficiently powerful entities.

It isn't like government currency, although it can be used for many of the same things.

This video suggests Bitcoins are mainly used on the "dark web". As if that's its main use. And real cash doesn't have that use in "dark alleys".

LucasArts Remembered

LucasArts Remembered

ant says...

For me, it was Star Wars and Outlaws. I am not a fan of adventure games.

shagen454 said:

Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Full Throttle, The Dig, Loom, Dark Forces, Grim Fandango... Shit man. We have been missing LucasArts for a while. :~(

I remember being a little kid in 4th grade, I loved the Monkey Island soundtrack so much that I recorded the songs with my little boom box cassette recorder from the Tandy. That game was one of those magical sorts where as a little kid I fantasized about actually living in that game world.

Before Dark Forces came out I remember staring at previews in PC Gamer for months at a time. When it came out it was unbelievably AWESOME. Really special company, really special times. Will be forever in my mind with LOVE.

That said there is still hope. Telltale, which consists of former LucasArts employees has been doing a fantastic job of innovating upon adventure gaming; the future is still bright.

Puppy Determined To Get On Treadmill

Maybe you should reconsider just what "succinct" means, before you start insulting people who disagree with you.

The entire thrust of your comment was an implication that it's perfectly reasonable to outlaw pit bulls. And you're wrong, it's as simple as that. public flogging or pillorying the people who abuse them, and make that action widely known, and you'd have a lot few abused dogs who are vicious (of any breed).

In the meantime, I don't have time to spare on assholes, so if you intend to continue behaving like one, please let me know.

It really is tiring having to explain a succinct comment. I suggest you try reading my comment again, s l o w l y, and you will, hopefully, see that i addressed your "points."
