The carp's kinda an important fish in Japanese culture. Quoth a random Internet page:
"In Japanese culture, the carp (or koi) represents courage and perseverance, as the fish is known for its strength and determination as it swims against the current upstream."

Alright well I guess they're only trying to refer to Koi, and those are cool and all... but go google image search "carp" and tell me you'd want that as your team name.

Yeah White Sox & Red Sox are weird, and being a small blue bird doesn't sound that exciting, but if you don't think a marlin is more badass than a carp you're crazy.

Getting up does not mean she's okay. I had a friend seven years ago get hit in the head at a softball game. He only felt a little bit dizzy at first...but it ended up bruising both sides of his brain, caused brain damage that he never fully recovered from (the slurred speech and memory loss eventually went away though), and ended his career as a doctor as no malpractice insurance company would ever cover him after this accident. He was only in the outfield and the ball bounced off his glove.
