Stupid onions

It's kind of sad when The Onion News Network is spot on with one of their "stories".

It comes from many things. What is one reason America has such high instances of gun violence? Perhaps it is because we love our guns and to be a man you have to own one, and to be a country you have to have gun freedoms. Does this register with you? I don't know--were you ever shot? If not, obviously gun violence doesn't stem from this problem

But seriously, it is a multi-layered onion, and one of those layers is to be tough. Another is commercialism. Another is emasculation (Ie., tearing men down when society declares they must be men.) Etc.

The vid I posted had the description in Russian and Ukrainian "Funny baby eats onion", but I thought it was a girl.

Despite the fact that it's entertaining to watch, these are actually pretty terrible.

I've never had a good one, they're typically either cut unevenly, so half the potato turns out more like chips, and the other half undercooked. Oily, they weren't spread out far enough so tons of oil got trapped in the actual spiral, or soggy, but that one isn't really about the potato itself, more the fact that the oil they're using to fry it is either too cold, or they don't leave it down long enough.

Whenever I see them at ribfest now, I just walk past them and grab a Bloomin' onion, or whatever it's called instead.

The way I chop onions without tears is to put the chopping board on a stove top with a range hood. Turn the fan on the range hood while chopping, it will suck away the tear inducing vapour.

What's sad is that when I first saw the title of this video, I thought this was an Onion vid.

I really thought this was an Onion video.

So if rich do well and "overestimate" their skills, then what do all those self-help books really teach? How much was truly in their control and how much was simply luck.
