Thanks, Ollie! I'm itunesing it now. There were four there, but now I see the others were EP's and Various Artist contributions. Love those Blogotheque sifts.

The only one so far - For Emma, Forever Ago! He spent 3 months recording it out in the woods of Wisconsin, and it's amazing. I don't have it myself but I've heard almost all the tunes off of it. Definitely would recommend it. And call me Ollie!

Hey EndAll. Do you have a recommendation for which Bon Iver record I should get?

update: although today's final event was again taunted by changing wind, we saw some great jumps in the first series, over 220 and even 230m. but then the jury decided to abort the series with just 5 best jumpers to go and everybody had to start the first round again from a lower starting gate (which means less exit speed). the second series was rather uneventful, with much shorter than average distances. the competition was won by Olli Harri of Finland with 211m from the first and 219.5m in the final series

This is not even near as stupid and embarrassing and lame as the Finnish Olli "Cola-Olli" Hokkanen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hix25TdoBFA

Explanation: He tried to drink a 1.5L bottle of Coca-Cola as quickly as possible on a similar TV show. He stopped at 3rd glass out of 7 and said "I can't. It's too acidy." The show host asked if it came as a surprise that Coca-Cola contains carbonic acid... After that hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of Finnish kids posted their own videos on YouTube where they drank whole 1.5L bottles in a few seconds etc. On a side note Olli is now being charged for filming half-naked underaged kids.

Beaker Fail

I'm guessing the implied meme he's thinking of is that kid that does the split screen and is the inspiration for the beginning of Weezer's Pork & Beans video.

Oh, I think you're very wrong about only scripted gags being fail-able. Why would that be the case? I think any time anyone attempts anything and screws up it's a fail. E.g., a skateboarding kid trying an ollie but screws up and decapitates himself with his shoe laces: epic fail.

Here, our dear squeaky friend is attempting to pull off a classical music video but burns the place to hell in 6 separate recording sessions. I wouldn't call that success. Big time fail.

My last pets were 2 rats, Sifl and Olly. This is a picture of one of them (Olly, I think). I now live with 3 cats, but they're not mine.

McCain Can't Recall Iran-Contra

wazant says...

For a quick sing-along review on Iran/Contra, for all you youngsters out there, see also http://www.videosift.com/video/Ollie-North-High-Treason

User Biminim is otherwise right, Iran/Contra was not directly related to the hostage issue McBane was talking about. Though it was extra embarrassing for Reagan when it was revealed that his administration was secretly helping the Iranian bugaboos after his supporters had assigned him so much credit for strong arming the earlier hostage release--especially when it was actually so obvious that that release had nothing to do with Reagan, who had taken office just days before.
