So what they did is they let the two guys speak in a very thick, bavarian accent. bavaria is a region in south-east germany that's pretty much your cliche germany. beer for breakfast, sausages, huge 34oz beer mugs, castles, bretzel, leather shorts etc. it doesn't get more "german" than bavaria. there's certainly a racist touch to it (at least in my eyes because the "joke" depends on the audiences disbelief / surprise of a black person being a "real" bavarian) but i thought it's a good example of voice over strangenesses.

This is beyond disgusting and doesn't belong on VS. Go to WorldStar or Liveleak for your fix of violence and disgusting ignorance.

It's clearly a racial/hate crime when he's being assaulted by people who are taking glee from the attack itself, AFTER he's already beed mugged "for everything" (as shown in the YT video). Knocking him out, stripping him down, laughing with glee in his face... all these people are disgusting pieces of shit.

This crime has nothing to do with race. Put a black man in the same situation, and the same would happen.

1. He wasn't targeted because he was white. He was targeted because he was drunk, alone and unable to defend himself. The same thing would have happened to a black dude in an equivalent situation, except then you wouldn't care.

2. As I pointed out in a similar video, that's Baltimore. Black people are robbed, beaten, and killed in that violent city every fucking day. There are enough of these disgusting videos online to show that these thugs will attack anyone of any demographic.

3. Apparently you don't realize that white people commit crimes too. Every day. Sometimes in groups (called "gangs"). And some of those crimes target black people. The instances where a gang or a group of drunk, rowdy white boys attack a black victim are not all national news. >> ^chilaxe:

If a black person was targeted by not a lone white criminal but an entire white mob for this because of their ethnicity, it'd be national news.
Videosift always supports that because racism, and in particular group hate crimes, are seen as representing larger cultural and practical realities.
There'd be no comments that it should be downplayed by the media and restricted to sites like WorldStarHipHop.

I will downvote this.
Not because of the event but for the way that it is edited. The beginning is cut off and all that remains is the violent act itself.

There are better, more conclusive versions of this video that are better and explain context for what is happening. Yes, it's akin to a mugging. It is a racial attack buy a group of teens mobbing a white male. It starts slow and then escalates from there.

This video sensationalizes the end result and focuses only on part of it. Therefore the video holds no water. I suggest finding a version that is complete, or better yet has some news commentary with it.

I'm inclined to say it's not quite suitable for the contest since the drinking vessels could be anything at all and aren't really mentioned, so they can't validly be considered the subject of the video, unfortunately.

It's interesting to see the kinds of videos everyone is finding for this contest. I was really expecting to see things like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, How It's Made: Beer Bottles, rapid cooling carafe, how to make a shot glass out of ice, etc. (I'm guessing some of those must already have been submitted previously.)
