Mitt Romney turns his back on a medical marijuana patient.

Brief History Of Marijuana -- John Fugelsang

Yes, for fuck's sake. And not this medical marijuana bullshit nonsense. Marijuana should be as legal as tomatoes. The concept of a plant being illegal is insane to me.

Your comment made me think of the vast number of poisonous plants that aren't illegal, plants like buttercups, bracken, St John's Wort, yew trees, rhododendron bushes, privet hedges, all of these are highly toxic and yet are perfectly legal to grow, in fact are very commmonplace. I'm only scratching the surface here. Oh - a good example would be poppies, perfectly legal to grow, definitely poisonous, and can be harvested for opiates (although as far as I know it's the processing of the opiates that is illegal in most countries).

Marijuana isn't toxic, no more harmful than alcohol, and has been shown to offer benefits for both physical and mental illnesses. It's even been shown to help people become more aligned with what is referred to by psychologists as 'neural neutral' - i.e. normal.

Meh. I'm certainly not pro-Romney, but it seems like he answered the question as much as it actually applies to him. He doesn't support medical marijuana -- that's his answer. Would he personally arrest this dude? No, of course, not -- he's not a cop, he wouldn't arrest anyone. It's a stupidly worded question. It's flamebait.

Right Wing Attacks on Reproductive Rights - Countdown

Whether you support it or not, Roe V. Wade is badly written law.

And since we're being intellectually honest (now that I'm here) the State tells women (and men) what they may not do with their bodies all the time.

Democrat regimes want to make it clear that the State has no right to interfere with the the relationship between a woman and her doctor? Doctors, try getting your female patients a scrip for medical marijuana in the rest of the states (and sometimes even in the states that allow it).

It's against the law to engage in prostitution, sell your organs, use a wide range of drugs, and even commit suicide. The left has varying positions on these issues but by no means are they unified enough to change any of the aforementioned.

At the very least, shouldn't a change in tax rules for operating business move forward from the point the laws change instead of retroactively?

Tax law is excruciatingly hard because in addition to being guilty before being innocent, in many cases, they seize your assets and force you to defend yourself...now with no money. Tax cases don't even go through the main courts, they have all their own courts where the judges are, you guessed it, all mostly old IRS agents....sounds fair. When in tax trouble, you're basically screwed as a normal person or small business. Only those who can hire the best lawyers stand a chance of not getting exploited. It is a sad state of affairs, and one of the main reasons I support a simpler tax. We can even keep all the progressive stuff that I don't agree with, for now, just get rid of this monster!

Spice was Invented by The War On Drugs

Here's the scoop:

JWH-018 makes you feel more stoned than the first time you got stoned. If you don't know what that means, well... no wonder people were freaking out.

JWH-122 which i use now daily, is a LOT more mellow. I can smoke it once and be stoned all day but relaxed, more CBD like. 75$ for 5 grams that lasts months. I'm talking pure powder that i mix into my own smokable. I don't smoke blends of rose hips and bay bean sprayed with acetone dissolved JWH, like vendors sell.

These are synthetic cannabinoids, they are full agonists and bind very tightly to the CB receptors. THC and CBD are partial agonists and mitigate each others effects. These chemicals are no joke and have been available for a long time, proving that if cannabis was legal that NOTHING bad would happen. These drugs are far more potent and the world has had access to them for years by mail-order, and the results are in.

You WILL freak out if you are not a cannabis user or someone with experience smoking. I've smoked for over a decade before trying these compounds and it was like i was 16 all over again. The strange thing is the intense effects last only up to an hour, then you're ok again. The effects seem additive, whereas you can smoke cannabis non-stop, you actually reach a point of intoxication that can be nauseating (happened two times on JWH-018, I was sweating, throwing up, couldn't come down... but then I did... and it happened from using too much 018 too quick).

Also, my anxiety and depression seemed very well managed on a combination of JWH-122 and Sertraline HCl (gen Zoloft). I no longer get angry and sad, and want to just throw it all away because the world is big and scary.

Cannabis prohibition is very strange. I like being told as an American that i can't be tortured, held without cause, executed in street... but the can'ts should all be bad things. I can't smoke cannabis BECAUSE I'm American. Even the Israeli govt is legalizing medical marijuana for its citizens, yet my country who gives them money to exist, says I cannot. I can't because I'm American. Wierd. So I'll pay less to get more stoned.

Ron Paul Iowa Debate Highlights (Blog Entry by blankfist)

His stance on marriage tends to rattle my Democratic friends. They believe the monolithic Federal Government should really be the only law of the land... except when California legalize medical marijuana and the Feds stepped in, then it was all "state's rights!" but I digress.

I personally think the problem is that government gives too much legitimization to marriage and incentivizes people to seek it out with the benefits they offer to married couples. If you're single, you pay a lot more taxes. If you're married, you pay less. That's the incentive.

So when the G&L community wants these benefits (sure they want to also marry for love, but a lot of this is about equality as well!), the government creates civil unions. They have the same benefits but just without the title of "marriage". It's just not equal. It's just not fair.

Congrats Drug Warrior-in-Chief President Obama!

I do find it ironic that the same people who see "alternative medicine" for the bullshit it is, will often defend "medical" marijuana. Just admit you want get high! It's no worse than getting drunk, and as long as you're not a dick about it, there's nothing wrong with that either.

The difference between cannabis and alternative medicine is HUGE! Cannabis has proven medical benefits with minimal side effects.

The reason why you see it used as an argument frequently is because the anti-cannabis idiots keep saying it should be illegal because it has no practical uses. Not only is this a ridiculous argument for a freedom-loving country, it is also patently false. So you see the medical uses being discussed a lot.

You are correct in your assertion that many people just want to be able to grow and smoke weed legally, but the "medical marijuana" angle is not just a front. It's a real issue.
