Being the father of a 4 year old little boy who was born with a congenital heart defect, and has had several operations, I've spent more time than I care to think about in children's hospitals.

It breaks my heart seeing all the sick little kids in there.

It therefore makes me really angry seeing and hearing about kids that are sick/dying or crippled from illnesses that could have simply been prevented had they had vaccinations.

Good for you. My brother is 3.5 years older than me, a terrible spread. It was older enough that he was always 1.5 times my size, but close enough that he was never reprimanded for beating up on 'little kids' when he abused me. It left me wishing I was an only child.
Be sure to keep an eye out for that, and don't expect the abused to tell you...in my case it was made clear that reporting abuse only caused more abuse, with no consequence.

I've seen that once. Might have been after one of the irish scandals, a guy holding a sign with a little kid and an old clergyman with a robe-tent approaching with his hands out like mr burns and a big grin. The thing is when it comes to paedophilia, you can't think it of anyone you think you know, so you discard images like that as silly fairy tales without thinking beyond the metaphor. You don't want to be wondering if the guy you just shook hands with gets drunk before sunday school and manipulates extra private tuition with the shy kid who doesn't have a dad and cries a lot.

Sorry to be so graphic there, but it is what it is in all its vileness, and everyone complicit ought to feel fucking ashamed of themselves. I'll stop before i derail, but the moral standards these people are hiding behind are very shady indeed, because somewhere in that chain of command someone knew and kept quiet about the institutional rape-centres the Catholics kept running for many decades. Unless they've leaned on their own faith-leaders to press for justice and HARD, their hands are dirty, and they are ridiculous to stand there shouting shame on someone else.

Can't stand kid heroes in media. WTF is the fascination with making dumb little kids seem more important than they are? Oh, wait, they're the malleable minds that watch this kind of crap, and buy the dumb products based on it.

As a father of a young child and also a professional photographer, this is really close to my heart.

I really hate that people associate nudity with sexuality. Of course nudity can be sexual, but that's not the same as saying all nudity is sexual. Running around with nothing on is just something kids do. They aren't body aware and at that age they shouldn't be.

If we're going to make something illegal or think of it as wrong because some weirdo finds it sexual, well where the hell does that end? A lot of people have a foot fetish, so are we all to keep our socks on at all times? Really?

The photo of the little girl jumping on the bed is a great shot. It shows the carefree abandon of a little kid trying to amuse herself. To me it speaks to my inner child and makes me realise how much we've lost as adults. The nudity is important in this shot, but not for any sexual reason. When was the last time you just didn't care? When was the last time you thought it could be OK to jump on the bed naked? More to the point when was the last time that you didn't even have to think that and just did it, just because?

It makes the shot interesting that her naked body is not sexual. It's the opposite. It's innocent, there's nothing more to it. She's not at an age where all of these rules and restrictions should apply to her because they are meaningless to a toddler.

The problem comes when people take innocent shots like this and try to make out that they are sexual. That's when the damage happens. That's when the little girl is sexualised. Not by the photographer, but by the people who claim to be trying to protect the kids.

Why is it so irresistibly funny to torment little kids?

Little kid gettin down the best he can. That's awesome surely not fail or wtf. Dick brother for making him feel embarrassed. I d be cheering him on or most likely join in. Always the insecure ones who laugh and gawk. Spend more time alone shaking your body to the music then you will start to understand me thinks. Dancing, it's free and few things can make you feel as good.

I have learned things about my phone from my four year old. Little kids are good for fuzz testing because they don't know which things should not work.
