Very nice, but I don't have that much chest hair - Ass hair, well that's another matter. And I do in fact have a 24" monitor - and it's lovely.

Oh don't worry dag I modified the sites CSS, data and img calls in a very special way just for you. Check it out.
Actually I got a CSS modification to make everything look black. Dag is just jealous he doesn't have a 24 inch monitor that has the ungodly contrast ratio of 10,000 to 1.

I hate it when people act like Apple's the leader in everything.

^ This. A hundred, thousand, gajillion times.

^Times infinity!

I've actually never heard someone say that Apple was the leader in everything.

Whether you're a PC or Mac user, it's pretty undeniable that Apple's attention to design of the hardware, and their advertising campaigns are a cut above the rest. The entire i___ (iPhone, iChat, ietc.) concept caught on like a wildfire across every spectrum of the computer industry, and even staplers and tape-dispensers started coming in an array of iMac like colors. Even many PC case manufacturers did it.

But "leader in everything" is not a claim I've ever heard anyone make.

Polls are fun! Mac or PC? (Blog Entry by MarineGunrock)

Homebuilt gaming PC which I use almost exclusively to surf the internet on. Let's just say it doesn't slow down very often, and my room is warmer than a sauna.

I am probably the only person (or one of very few) in the world that likes Vista better than XP.

Naw, I do too. If for nothing else then because it is immune, err, just as immune to viruses as a mac. Can't say it's been trouble free, I have had all kinds of problems ranging from updating to gaming, but I just like the feeling more than the cold XP interface.

I guess I would like a Mac, but memories from using the old iMac blue plastic bubble computer at school are burned in my head.

I Has a New 'Puter! : D (Blog Entry by dotdude)

8113 says...

I has an (new to me) old computer!
I had a used 400mhz G3 iMac, now a used 733mhz G4 tower. WhooHoo!
I shoved the hard drive and 1gb ram from the iMac into it and viola`!
No loss of operating system, applications or data!
I did replace the video card ($10 + Airport card I didn't want)
I turned away the CinemaDisplay!
(Incompatable with everything BUT that particular old videocard.)
It's like Naomi Campbell. It's beautiful, but you don't want it in your house.
I have a 20" widescreen Magnavox monitor/DVD player/HDTV.
I'll upgrade THAT to a 42" eventually.

Congrats on your NEW new Mac!
(Beautiful screen, and no HDMI or S video **INPUTS**?!?)
((Yes, there are USB Video input solutions, but it's a workaround
for a deficient design.))

Why Macs Suck

11672 says...

This guy's just ignorant...I've used an AVID system, and I've worked with every Mac ever introduced.

They are fast...and they DON'T crash. My Windows laptop spontaneously combusts every time it has a "driver incompatibility," and shuts down the whole computer and I lose EVERYTHING!

My $1199 iMac 20" computer has more power than my boyfriend's top of the line Dell (he was a programmer at Dell). I've even switched it over and run Call of Duty natively in Windows XP with Bootcamp...it ran circles around his computer, and oh-by-the-way I didn't have to install some over-priced video card to get it to work.

Loser boy!! You just hate Macs because Macs make people happy.

Go home to your little Vista machine and just be obnoxious.

OSIM iGallop commercial

MarineGunrock says...

Holy shit, it's actually a real product: http://www.brookstone.com/store/531707.html
One question: does it vibrate?
But I fail to see how this falls under Asia - *nochannel, *wtf *commercial, and truly *terrible.

And what the fuck is with everything starting with 'i'? Does that actually stand for something? Or are companies just doing it trying to ride the successful sales wave of the iMac and iPod?

What to do if you spill liquid on your laptop/notebook.

What Did You Ask For Christmas? (Blog Entry by swampgirl)

I'd love a new iMac - the one with the giant screen. I don't think that's going to happen this year. I'll settle for a USB hard drive and a gym membership.

I'd like an iPhone - but not going to buy a black market one for Australia. I'll wait for the new version with an HSDPA connection.

Mac Vs PC: Vista Dowgrade

Krupo says...

OMFG, dag there have been so many times I've wanted to through Macs out Windows (no pun intended), that I considered it a safety hazard that the original iMac had a convenient "grab and throw off roof" handle.

Vista's actually working quite nicely. Then again, any computer where I exercise absolute control will generally work quite nicely. As opposed to, say, my work system (running XP), which has to run work-related utilities. Although I can't complain about its performance as of late, except for the monthly update program which delivers new accounting guidlines to me with all the grace and finesse of a drunken Heavy in TF2.

Speaking of which, I want to play some TF2 now.

G4 Cube: Apple's most beautiful failed launched product

doogle says...

There were a few things - the product was cannibalizing the iMac and G4 lines, and the margin of return was lower, combined with limited production numbers. The design proved to be too much, too early. The Register sums it well:

"Hardware problems - most notably a heat-sensitive on-off switch that could power up or shut down the system on warm days - plagued the machine from the start. The Cube's much-touted near-silent, fan-free operation proved to be untrue for anyone who bought the version with an ATI Radeon graphics card, which included... er... a fan."

Why Macs Suck

dystopianfuturetoday says...

Sounds like this guy needs a more powerful computer for the kind of stuff he's trying to do. Those Imacs just weren't built for ram intensive work like video editing.

My MacBook Pro works like a charm.

The only thing I agree with is the bit about dragging things to the desktop (or to a burn folder FTM). Apple needs to fix that.

The all new iMac Multitouch

lurgee says...

This was a quick 3 day project. Blender 3D for the modeling and animation (for the screen too), and Final Cut Express for the text sequencing. Not trying to reinvent the iMac, just making a concept Ad.
