Semi Truck Stops Amazingly Fast In An Emergency

The driver behind flashed his lights and honked, to warn the oncoming truck.
The bus did not stop on an approved bus stop, and the transport company was looking into the incident.
But then again - this could easily have happened on a regular bus stop.
Some places, where there is quite a distance between each bus stop, the bus driver and parents agree to stop certain places between the bus stops.

Norwegian busses have always, since I was a kid, had warning labels "Do not cross the road before the bus has left". This is why.

Ahh, you are correct. The blocked message was very weird and instead of just saying "blocked" or "not available", it was this long winded line about "This video contains content from the Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific Inc., Honk Kong" that made me think it was a video takedown.

How to drive a HMMWV in Iraq.

They REALLY need a better horn, or better yet a siren if they're going to ignore all traffic laws and instead use off road racing rules, which are... to pass-honk, tap bumper, ramming speed, preferably in that order.

VENGANCE!!!!!

newtboy says...

And they didn't...ever. They intentionally blocked the road....for no reason...after the bike cut off traffic in the other direction by illegally crossing. To my eyes, that makes them the original offenders and the intentional assholes.
Honking at a douchbag walking in the middle of the road, seemingly oblivious on his phone, and yelling "move" seems quite restrained compared to most drivers here in America in the same position, imo.

I do agree, it seems overly convenient that they cross and turn around to be next to the puddle.

He is looking her in the eye as he honks the horn, probably with a smirk on this face plus a cell phone pointed at her.

Not a mistake by a long shot.

Gets the shit scared out of her, fight or flight response kicks in and she chooses fight.

Good for her.

Not sure how honking a horn constitutes a violent or harassing act.

...getting a drink thrown all over you and your truck, however? Especially if it could have been a mistake?

Pranks are funny when the victim gets a laugh too. Feels like pranking is just a pc name for bullying when you see half of the assholes in these videos.

Woman almost hits biker by merging, gets caught by cops

entr0py says...

There's no doubt that the person who's lane is ending needs to yield, and no one would argue that the lady in the car is a good driver. Still is it some sort of pride thing for the biker to prefer honking his horn and possibly getting wrecked over 1 second of breaking? I understand driving related righteous indignation, but it doesn't seem worth dying over.

I disagree that it is victim-blaming.

He is honking his horn and yelling and neither speeding up nor slowing down in the face of a car coming for him.

Drive defensively. So every time they run that PSA, that is victim blaming?

She was totally in the wrong. You saw I said that right?

And he didn't drive defensively.

As a car driver (encased in a metal box), I don't argue with someone who is coming right for me. I try to get the heck out of the way (and curse at them the entire way).

Now, maybe I am missing something -- you can correct me if I am wrong about my observations. I"m not a motorcycle driver. Maybe he couldn't have slowed down, sped up, or done some other maneuver. Looked to me like he could have.

Please do correct me if my observations are incorrect.

(And might I inquire as to why in particular it is odd to see me "victim blame"? Not that I think I am?)

Wow, that's some spectacular victim-blaming right there. Wouldn't have expected that from you bb.

She knew he was there, as evidenced by her driving along the shoulder to try and pass, and her honking back at him is obviously road rage.

"Get the police involved"? Hell, I give him mad props for not kicking her mirror off.

Is this really worth involving police in? I am with him for a honk or two, a bit of cursing and giving opulent instructions on how to acquire better driving habits. Then get on with your life.

Cops Don't Like to Be Honked At in Colorado

newtboy says...

They should certainly be required to park before using their phones for ANY reason. They can't drive drunk, so why could they commit another illegal act that's just as dangerous? That's INSANE.

What a complete liar and douchebag. Name and address of the officer please. I think he needs to be honked at at all times of day and night.

They have the evidence now, they don't need a complaint. He needs to be reprimanded, ticketed, have his license removed for dangerous driving (parking in the street to scream at someone) and road rage, and then be harassed and ridiculed until he quits. This is why cops get shot by random people now...and why it will happen again, some of them deserve it.

Ha! That's my neighborhood.

Worst rondelle ever. No one knows how to use it. It's not unusual to see drivers sitting there, unsure of what to do.

Oh, and, cop's a colossal prick. Although, he is not lying that they use their phones for police business.

Cops Don't Like to Be Honked At in Colorado

nanrod says...

I found it hard to believe that simple honking is considered road rage in Colorado, so I found a lawyers web site that quoted that road rage is "assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger(s) of another motor vehicle or an assault precipitated by an incident that occurred on a roadway”. They went on to list some actions that are considered aggressive driving. One was excessive use of your horn, another was "Exiting the car to attempt to start a confrontation."
So not only is the cop a colossal prick, he doesn't know the law in his own jurisdiction. Either that or he was willing to blatantly lie on camera.

Cop Maces Bikers As They Ride By On The Freeway

littledragon_79 says...

Shameful. Hopefully he gets suspended or fired for such a gross display of poor judgement.
But it's hard to feel too bad for these d-bags when they take over the roads, impede traffic, drive recklessly/illegally, and go all mob rule when someone honks at them . The least they could do in this scenario is move over when passing a car and/or officer pulled over to the side of the road (if it's not the law as it is here).
