Rider falls, breaks back, ends career in baseball, loses athletic scholarship, has to drop out of college, insurance doesn't cover injury cause it occurred at a university athletic event, athletic insurance doesn't cover injury because it occurred whilst goofing off. Out of college, 40k in debt to student loans, 120k in debt to medical bills, 160k total in debt with no career prospects.

I think you're a bit overstating it, but what you're saying is the exact reason you will NEVER see this kind of Awesome in the big leagues.

Brithers disproved yet again (Politics Talk Post)

quantumushroom says...

I do remember Abercrombie being rebuked because he had no legal authority to view or obtain Obama's documents.

Trump himself never says that he has 'proof' Obama is hiding something. He says the POSSIBILITY of there being no long form is there, and on that I agree with him.

As for judging Obama on his performance rather than the birther issue, that I already do 100%. His record speaks for itself, or at least reads off a Teleprompter. He done goofed and will continue to do so.

Mike Evans is where I'm guessing people are getting the current governor's 'no birth certificate' statement from. Well apparently shortly after he said that Evan's claims he misspoke. In the same article, it also mentions Tim Adams who seems to have been a precursor to this statement, who says he was 'told at the time' there was no long form. Which is a big leap from there being proof there is no long form when faced with direct witness saying there was. Further, also mentioned in the article, Governor Abercrombie has backed off on his claims he can produce Obama's long form certificate because it is not allowable by Hawaiian state law.

As for the first part of your response, you're more than entitled to your opinion. I think you would be better off to stick with why you think his policies and actions make him a bad president, than relying on the hearsay, misquoting and rephrasing of others on an issue that has been proven false by official sources.

How Do You Play Soccer if You Live on a Floating Village?

RhesusMonk says...

This is a short clip of one of the floating villages off the Cambodian side of Tonle Sap Lake. The first floating building you see there on the left had a goal at the back and a group of kids goofing around with a football. Further down the estuary was a concrete barge with a full court basketball cage on it. Now that was sweet. I can't tell you how pissed I am that I didn't get a photo of it.

Btw, that link is to the travelblog-ish thing my girl and I put together over the last couple years. Hasn't been updated in a while. The big goofy white guy is me, and the beautiful babe is my lady.

I wasn't there and can only guess what these folks meant. But this ANALsys will be way smarter than lefty insults.

Guy #1 "Obama has no idea how serious this is." ----Agree. This a power-vacuum that will likely be filled by radical muslim vermin.

Guy #2 "Obama has no idea what a Republic is." ----possibly referring to Obama's "unawareness" that there is no stable government to replace the dictator

Guy #3 "No coherent message from the White House/No one seems to know what's going on --self-evident

Woman "Obama's religious beliefs govern his foreign policy" ---disagree. Obama has no foreign policy, except to apologize for the US and turn a cold shoulder to our allies

Same woman/half of crowd - "He's a Muslim". ---Obama claims he's a Christian. If you take him at his word, he's the most Muslim-sympathetic Christian President besides Carter (BTW, the majority here at atheisift likely sees Obama's Christianity as a sham or character defect, so what's the big deal either way)?

Guy # 4 -- "His religious belief is liberalism" ---- Obama has faith in liberalism above all religions. Sure seems like it.

Guy #5 --"He's NOT a practicing Muslim. He is a Muslim sympathizer." And a Muslim apologist.

Blue Shirt Guy -- "His religion is liberalism, the most intolerant religion of all." If you're on the left this won't make any sense. Yet it's correct. Ever see how the left treats 'heretical' conservative minorities?

Plaid woman - "It's possible he's Muslim though he claims to be a Christian." ---less important than the observation that he's "waffling on both sides"----certainly not the first politician to do so.

Stache' --"He's an appeaser." Absolutely. No historical reference to Chamberlain necessary.

Glasses Chick -- "He gives textbook answers." ---She done goofed. 'Textbook answers' means "the most examined and correct answers possible" She probably meant Teleprompted answers, aka canned responses.

Next Guy -- "The crisis snuck up on (Obama) and he was unprepared." ---Agree

Glasses Chick -- "He doesn't know what to do....he 'never' knows what to do." ----Obama only knows what HE will do, whether or not it causes harm. If he 'never' knew what to do he'd be slightly less of a threat.

No Tie Guy -- "I think he believes America's at fault for the world's problems. I think he doesn't see the good America does in the world." This man is guilty of plagiarising Rule #1 from the Liberal Handbook.

Of course you're free to judge these folks as you see fit, just as I don't have to wait for Egypt to fall under the shadows of minarets on His Earness's watch to judge him.

@quantumushroom Those of us from the British Isles tend to spell words correctly because we've been using this language a hell of a lot longer than residents of other countries around the world. Coincidentally did you know that the English language originated in England? Yes I know, how bizarre!

I meant no offense and was joking.

Besides, everyone knows the favorite spelling of favourite is favouЯite.

Its so weird running into someone else who plays League too, I tell people I play videogames all the time and they always think that's going to be a good conversation piece but it ends up sounding something like they'll start clambering on about God of War or Grand Theft Auto, and I meekly say "Uhh ever heard of League of Legends?" no "Vindictus?" no "Battlefield Bad Company?" Ehhh I've heard of it "COD Black ops?" OH YEAH I ROCK AT THAT ON 360!!! Oh ...PC? Like a computer game???

But yeah I'd love to find some fresh blood to play with, my usual crowd has turned into rageaholics. Drop me vent info in sift post or just friend me on LoL, same screen name: Jiggajonson

Spike Can Dance

I don't know if this is obvious, but from this video alone, I'm getting the sense that this guy is actually aware of himself and is purposely being funny. He is doing a good job at keeping you guessing though.

[edit] after reviewing some more of his videos I'm positive that he is goofing.

Texting Fountain lady, Suing mall for her own dumb actions

Sagemind says...

Apart with all the embarrassment and humility this caused. She knows she made a goof. She's embarrassed and feels foolish. So what.

Now, the video is a whole different issue. I'm not a lawyer nor will I pretend to be but this has got to raise a few eyebrows. This video turns a silly mistake into a gigantic problem.

It's the whole "Smile, you're on public camera" issue. It's a Big Brother thing.
What do the invisible people behind all these cameras do with the footage of you (a private citizen) as you go to the mall, walk in the park, fill up with gas and generally go on with your day to day activities. Why do they have the right to film everything you do? We all assume the video is logged in some sort of system and deleted down the road when not used for any reason (ie: a robbery didn't take place).

If it is deleted, we all say, "whatever, that footage wasn't used" and we move on. If it does get used to expose a crime, we say, "great, I'm glad they caught the guy - hey look there's me in the background."

But what about all the footage being misused? Posting it to youtube and being publicly humiliated on a large scale is just part of it. What about using it to stalk, invasion of privacy and many other things people can think of? Now we have to be afraid to scratch our nose in public for fear of being recorded and posted to Youtube with a caption reading "Man picks nose in public". (Ewe gross!).

The point is, regardless of the humility this woman received and then was elevated to, these companies need to take a professional outlook on this information and be held accountable.

It's like going to the Emergency ward because you got shot in the but (keeping it Disney here), and then they video tape you coming in and them removing the bullet (as part of their procedure). OK, you leave, no problem. then one day you find out the video is on Youtube. Ya, you feel dumb, and embarrassed for shooting yourself in the rump, but you sue because of the gross violation of personal medical information.

There has got to be some accountability here, if there is no policy in place, she should be able to sue the Mall. If there is a policy in place, the individual should loose his job and be found liable. If they can't find out who did it, then the Mall is responsible for not having proper security measures in place to track who had access to security information.

The Beauty of Pixar

I was going to post this myself, but this is a *dupeof=http://videosift.com/video/Pixar-Mashup. That one is dead though, and I posted a fix in the comments... I prefer this title though. Now I shall let @siftbot smack me down.
EDIT: Or maybe it won't smack me down since I must have goofed things up...
