Maybe 20+ years experience of search engines helps? Or perhaps it's 20+ years experience of goofing off looking for things like this instead of the research I was supposed to be doing... I remember using Archie when I was at University, and later being impressed that Alta Vista had a whopping 6GB of RAM for speedy web searches

There are possibly one or two vids in my pqueue that may interest you, given the style of music we were discussing.

Damn dude! I used to think I knew how to search the net. Nice work, and I thank you for the info.

These were submitted in the hope of finding just such info, more than any hope they'd get sifted. So I owe you one now. LOL

Freestylin' To the beat of his unborn son’s heart monitor

1)I thought you said it was entirely to do with culture, yet you bring up their appearance. And then mention Herman Cain and Seal, which seems like a non sequitur given your claim about culture-only. Are your claims based on race/ethnicity or not?

2)You must be a very skilled specialist if you can determine someone's intelligence and occupation from their appearance. Which phenotypical traits are you referring to to come to such conclusions?

3)So using slang and goofing off in a hospital at a joyous occasion make people lower class? I'll keep that in mind.

>> ^chilaxe:

@longde
• Obese mother (associated with negative health outcomes for children)
• Mother speaks in a lower class manner. (She says something about "trippin.")
• Mother overall doesn't look intelligent. Her job is probably cognitively simplistic.
• Father speaks in a lower class manner.
• Father's brief visual appearance is consistent or as least doesn't refute the other lower class signals, and the likely low cognitive complexity of his wife the mother of his child lets us to make predictions about him.
• Father's not embarrassed to act lower class in a hospital with his pregnant wife.
None of these things would apply to a sophisticated person like Hermain Cain or Seal.
The future belongs to cognitively complex people. People who don't like to read or improve themselves and have bad values are going to face worse and worse outcomes. Automation and globalization will continue, and being simplistic is no longer of value.

Tough Guy Vs Ghost Chili Pepper - Eeyore Wins!

oritteropo says...

If you cook them in oil, then remove them from the pan before putting in your onion and other ingredients, they should give a bit of a kick to a dish without making it completely inedibly hot (with normal dried chillies you need to put two or three, and cook them for a few minutes to get a really mild chilli effect, so start with a smallish one and a shorter duration).

This video got kinda surreal.
I've got a bag of these (www.myspicesage.com). I don't really care for spicy (hot) food and certainly don't understand the whole hot pepper pain machismo thing. I ordered them on a goof and tried just one small flake (they're dried) on my tongue. That was plenty to sate my curiosity forever, and now they've been sitting in a cupboard in their ziplock bag for over a year. I've given some to friends who wanted to try them in food, but other than that, it's not exactly an item you (read:I) could go through a lot of quickly.

The Dark Knight - A very poorly edited film, and why:

TheSluiceGate says...

This is not about continuity errors, this is about how a scene is staged so that an audience can understand what's going on. Interestingly enough, the debate is raging online with several people who work in the industry such as Joseph Kahn: http://josephkahn.blogspot.com/2011/09/analyzing-action.html

I for one enjoyed the film, but did notice at least some of his points to be true when I first watched it.

>> ^ulysses1904:

Finding continuity errors in movies is like shooting fish in a barrel. The Goofs section of just about any movie at imdb.com is full of countless continuity errors, both small and blatant, especially in chase scenes. I can't imagine this movie stands out as any worse than the rest.
But some newb taking Editing 101 might find this as insightful as Jim Emerson does.

Very creative! Here's what you need to know about BHO.
He's a child of privilege posing as a downtrodden victim who somehow climbed out of America's drowning pool of "racism".
Every president ever has existed under an altered image. George Washington didn't really cut down a cherry tree.
He isn't terribly bright but he knows what he's doing. He was nominated to assuage idiots' "White Guilt." He is an affirmative-action president with no real political credentials.
Right, people who aren't very bright become professors of constitutional law at Harvard all the time.
He's got a grudge against America, American Exceptionalism and free market capitalism. What the "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright believes, BARACK believes.
I have a grudge against Exceptionalism and free market capitalism, but still love America with all my heart. Do you still beat your wife?
He's likely a closet atheist, but for now obviously can't admit it.
There he goes proving his intelligence again. Bush wasn't a Texan either.
He has had no achievements to speak of since taking office, unless--UNLESS--you understand what his true motives are: turn America into just another forgettable Euro-dump with no identity. Suddenly it makes sense!
Does getting Osama count? Before you say that it's the Seals that got him, remember that Obama came under heavy fire for thinking we should reach into Pakistan.
"BULLPLOP QM! Barack wants JOBS for Americans!" As long as he embraces Keynesian rubbish, it won't happen. And he can't turn back now.
You don't know that his strategy won't work, this problem was a long time in the making. And it will be a long time getting out. (I've seen Morganthau quote)
The libmedia works for BHO as if they were being paid directly from the White House. They hide his gaffes, downplay his goof-ups and hide the results of his schemes.
I can't argue with this one. I stopped watching the news a long, long time ago.
America is worse off now than when this jug-eared socialist was elected.
Again, no one... no one... could have stopped the giant snowball yet.
I'm not a liberal (anymore) so I can't match wits wit the brilliant geniuses here, but the results of the BHO Fraudsidency speak for themselves. Every day.
I don't know why I feel the need to defend this president. Especially considering that I think all politicians are completely full of shit. I guess I was just way more comfortable with him than any of our other options. Do we really believe that he's anything but a powerless figurehead anyway?

Also, as far as the video is concerned, the problems we face are way more complicated than "working harder" and "getting more". A complex system composed of billions of individuals cannot be boiled down to a few simple rules. And the rules we have will constantly have to change as people adapt to the new system anyway. All kindergartners are taught that one plus one equals two. It takes a lifetime to even visualize what it truly takes to have a functioning society.

And when will Supergenius Barack Hussein Obama be releasing his kollij grades?

Never cause he's a Manchurian candidate created by the Kenyan Illuminati who control the world's drug companies. That's why he was so insistent on getting healthcare legislation passed, so he could make sure everyone could have access to the drugs and get them addicted so they can all be his mind slave zombies he'll use to make war on the peaceful utopian capitalist society on planet orbiting Gliese 581. If he had actually gone to college someone would have remembered him graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law, but not surprisingly nobody ever saw him graduate, even his 238 year old lizard man Illuminati grandmother who's actually the queen of England never saw him graduate.

Did I do it right, can I vote republican now?

School accomodates Islam to keep its students from skipping

jwray says...

The school board is creating both an impermissible entanglement with religion and an implicit endorsement of it by donating the use of their cafeteria to particular imams. Not all students go to see the same mosque, btw. Only some subset of even the Muslim students would benefit from this. This definitely would not fly under US case law.

Not to mention the absurd fundamentalism that would lead people to cut class instead of going to a later service. There are Muslim organizations in Canada that oppose the school board's decision.

The permissible version of this would be to just designate an area (not the whole cafeteria if it would interfere with other students) for individuals of any religion or no religion to go and pray or goof off, and not bring in religious leaders from the outside.
