"Father of the fringe"?!?

What continues to surprise me is how transparent the CNN fix is. <sarcasm> I wonder how many racists watch CNN. They should be questioned about that and held accountable to the beliefs of their viewers... all of them. </sarcasm>

A shocking exposé! Well, not really that shocking, unless you're a fan boy for the current US administration.

It just goes to show that the entire liberal/conservative (Republican/Democrat) debate is a joke. They're basically the same, but the self interest of the population creates these crack-pot, liberal fringe groups and insane right wing movements like the Tea Party. It's all just a distraction from the fact that corporations are running the show regardless of what party is in the president's office. The US and its allies are the conductors of an orchestra of world wide destabilization and they're robbing their own citizens to do it. Wake up and smell the oil!

The gameplay mockup looked pretty pedestrian to me. Coop shooter? It looked less interesting than Borderlands 2.

Regardless, if Gustavo Fring tells me to buy a video game I will.

The sad thing about Islam is that we really cant know if this is a fringe element that is violent or not.

Muslims can lie to non-believers with the intention to convert them, so saying "no most of us are peaceful" could well be another ploy to gain trust. We can't know and sadly even if a Muslim joined the argument right now and said "no, we really are peaceful" I would be hard pressed to believe them.

Unfortunately I think Bill makes the best point here (one brought up by Orson Scott Card in Shadow of the Hegemon). Islam is the only religion today that you are not free to leave without fear of death. If it is to be a free religion that is followed based on faith and not fear that must change.

In my experience, Muslims are generally as horrified about the radical Islamic fringe as Christians are regarding Westboro Baptist Church.

What I said and how I said it when I heard Fringe was cancelled.

Fringe last couple of seasons were running Ford and Nissan commercials. Product placement is here to stay folks. It's a commercial that can't be overlayed by local stations.

I was going to chime-in to make a similar point-The site would benefit greatly from a re-tooling from a marketing standpoint-The place has been online long enough to have attracted more regulars-Most of the tweaks initiated here come from the realm of the programmer(s), formula-over-function....

There's plenty of talent and appeal available on the site to tap into when you find it's soul-The preeminent users here, so tenured through charter or stamina can do a lot to encourage fringe participants to broaden the appeal of the community-

One user in particular whose submissions and personality added some quality weight to the place is Arvana.... His fare was mind-expansion² with never a mundane cat fart, car wreck with or without human injury, or unkind word for anyone. A few real pieces of amazing work have floated through here.,.,.

VS has been on the road to an echo chamber for the last year or two. I am disappoint.

I think shiny and QM represent the fringes (relatively speaking) on this site, but they've obviously got thick skin. The real problem is that we've lost some of the middle-ground that tied the two extremes together.

I wonder if cyberbalkanization affects the Sift to the point where it is easy to push members such as @shinyblurry, @quantumushroom, and others like that to the fringes.
