lord of war-the interrogation scene

chingalera says...

Watched it once, never to return-One of those once is enough flicks....Don't dig that 'window into slow demise' kinna flick(didn't LLV kinna put him on the map....Best Actor)?

He takes on roles as cage playing cage-I place him in the Keanu Reeves category of hactors as in, where are they now?
But you really can say that about any A-lister from the 80's-90's, Hollywoods' drying up on her corner and vine-Cage got roles and was handed prominence because of the Godfather, FFC.

Brian Cranstons' got more talent in his little finger, and he's done how many feature films???

Liked 'Next', but because of Jessica Beale and Julianne Moore, plus.....Philip K Dick story-and I'm about the PhilDick.

Can't watch Raising Arizona anymore-can't get a giggle from it-my chucklers' maybe broke....

(watching Lord of War now, revisiting it to try and prove myself wrong)

Escape From Tomorrow ~ Behind The Scenes

Escape From Tomorrow

Ow My Balls!! Idiocracy

chingalera says...

Thank GOD! Loved this flick, thought this segment sucked.

Won't call dupe on this BECAUSE, according to these, "make everyone happy" rules regarding "exact" content on the Videosift grumblegrumble, some dick-pencil is bound to show-up and call foul for my doing so, and quite frankly, I'm burnt-out dealing with nit-picking cunts set on making examples of bullshit infractions.

So, no* isdupe...perhaps a down-vote instead.

Insane Tankslap Recovery

Chairman_woo says...

That's not a tank slapper that's a high-side!

A tank slapper is when the bars repeatedly flick violently from side to side due to a resonant oscillation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ1srcQMa_0
(for reference: off the brakes, don't fight the bars and accelerate gently out of it before changing your underwear)

This video however was a high-side: You accelerate too hard exiting a corner causing the rear to break traction and slide. When you come off the power this makes the rear wheel grip again suddenly causing the bike to violently flick back into line and throwing you up and out of the seat (and usually off the bike all together). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J4fdc_G2cA

Who says motorcycles are dangerous eh?

Top Ten Summer Box Office Bombs 2013

Trout says...

The information in this video is deceptively incomplete. Modern major-release movies are enormously expensive to make and a big part of their profit calculation includes the worldwide market. In fact, country-specific versions of these films are often released in overseas markets, sometimes with new characters/scenes added just for them.

So while it's perhaps culturally interesting to see whether a particular flick was popular with Americans, the economic side of the movie business cares not.

It's almost quaint that someone would report only U.S. box office totals today - particularly when using that data to call a film a bomb. Here's the real bottom line for these "bombs" (total worldwide grosses as of 9/2013 - and counting):

After Earth $243m ($130m budget)
The Lone Ranger $243m ($215m budget)
Elysium $213m ($115m budget)
Turbo $157m ($135m budget)
Red 2 $120m ($ 84m budget)
White House Down $153m ($150m budget)

Heck, even Mortal Instruments ($66.6m, $60m budget) and The Internship ($83m, $58m budget) have made millions.

These movies are almost all profitmakers - often enormously so. Just, you know, not as much as we were hyped to believe in the States.

(That said - R.I.P.D. was actually a bomb! The only real one here, I'd say. But I think the film companies will survive.)

Thug Notes - Fahrenheit 451

Hey, this bottle belongs to you!

chingalera says...

I have. I was hit in the face with a discarded, burning butt. Got in front of the perp's car, brake-checked the guy to get his undivided, then flicked a lit cigar back at him.....He got the message and hopefully adjusted his shit for the next motorist.

RoboCop - Reboot Trailer

kymbos says...

I don't know. The original was a masterpiece. The satire and social commentary was inspired.

To expect that much again is probably asking too much. The very reason they're rebooting everything is because they are self-evidently out of ideas.

Interestingly, has anyone noticed how children's flicks are not endless reboots? I mean, there are the obligatory 2nd and 3rd versions of successful films, but in the past decade or so they've put out a lot of new stories. Not so for original films for adults.

Cat's Eye - Trailer

I forgot my phone

Dumdeedum says...

My favourite was flicking through the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury this year and at the end of Chic's set they invited a bunch of the audience up on stage to dance and one guy clearly stopped to send a text and another was right behind Nile Rodgers the whole time recording it on an iPad.

Bangguru - Isn't That So Nice

chingalera says...

So wait....that's Jessica Alba before the Haven and the Honor and when did she make a flick lately? There's yer hottie former-actress web-addict mom for ya, just-a crankin'-out them oddly-named chilluns and puttin' her no-actin' talents on hold!
Srsl'y tho, she's about as cute as bugs and as genuinely fascinated with life as they come...can't stand most of the films she stars in, dig the cameos and side characters though.....WHAT!?....She can't act!
