Unbreakable - Weight Lifting (deleted scene)

Shamalamaman gets a lot of grief- but I've always thought his movies were pretty damn good. He's a cheesier, modern version of Hitchcock. Am I the only one who actually liked The Village? I love movies with surprise hooks- especially if I haven't guessed or been told what it is. 6th Sense was an amazing movie. >> ^Smugglarn:
I like that movie a lot too. My only real gripe with it is the text at the end saying "and he turned him in to thepolice yada yada yada... whatever - ruined a great movie.
Then again Shamalamanamanam turned out to be full of shit.

I absolutely loved the village, i thought it was brilliant, one of my favourites. This move was brilliant too, can't fault it.

However.

The happening. What........the........fuck? What an absolute embarassment of the highest magnitude. After the films that i loved (signs, the village, this, etc.) - and i mean loved, those number among some of my favourite films - it would take something as bad as the happening to make me go, "Wow, did he do a good job of those films by ACCIDENT?"

Interview with David Lynch and Frank Herbert

I've mentioned this before anytime a Dune vid gets sifted (and here I go again)...anyone familiar with Spicediver's fanedit? Check out fanedit.org to find it. If you like Lynch's Dune, then you'll really like Spicediver's version.
From the readme:
Neither of the officially released versions of David Lynch's visually amazing 'Dune' are satisfactory. The Theatrical Version was gutted to the point of incomprehension by executive producer Dino De Laurentiis in his quest to make it a two hour edit. The easier-to-follow Extended Version with restored footage was so incompetently put together by MCA TV that Lynch removed his name from the writing and directing credits.
Broadly, my intention with the Alternative Edition is to improve storytelling and flow by preserving the best elements from both official versions of the film while also integrating some newly available deleted scenes.

Never heard of the fanedit before. Torrent downloading now, thanks!

High Fidelity - Deleted Scene - Records For Sale

Great movie, and an awesome deleted scene. Can't figure out why they took it out. It's not very long. It exposes a part of Cusack's character in an interesting, non-expositional way. Beverly D'Angelo is smoke'n hot.

Why take it out?

! EXTREME RICE !

What if David Lynch had directed "Return Of The Jedi"?

shuac says...

^ Yeah, so did I. And so did Frank Herbert.

I have a fan-made alternate version by a fellow named Spicediver. His re-edit is such a better story! I can't give you a link because when you Google it, you'll see why.

Here's a snippet from the readme...

The Alternative Edition is based more on the Extended Version of 'Dune' than ADigitalMan's "Reconstructed Workprint" fanedit (eg. my version uses the male narrator) which makes mine a significantly different take on the film. I have used the 6th and 7th drafts of Lynch's original script as a guide but have also taken my own liberties with the material.
