Is this the new Guillermo del Toro movie ?

I had no problems hating it.
The only reason I went to see it was the hope that del Toro could once again surpass the genre he was working in, and make me like it...as he did with Hellboy. This time, he didn't. It was worse than I'd ever imagined.

I don't know, that was good but del Toro seemed a little self-endu --- - ALL HAIL THE HYPNOTOAD!

Hmm. Has Del Toro ever failed to entertain me?

Well, off I go.

It's a trailer dude. Let's check out the film first! Then we may begin the true judgement upon Del Toro (a SPANISH director making this Americanized film), as we have in the past: he's contributed a good deal to film that is both good and bad.

Also, he helped with the writing, so I wouldn't jump to the "blame the writers" crap. If it sucks, blame the man himself because he has his hands in a lot of it. And he continues to use Ron Perlman in his films, which is a plus because he's used Perlman even before we knew who he was. Or Del Toro for that matter.

Ultimately I look forward to seeing his movies, even if they're not all greats. He wrote all the Hobbit films, though maybe that misses the mark with you, as well.

I'd recommend Cronos, Devil's Backbone, and Pan's Labyrinth. Those are great flicks, though on the horror side of the spectrum.

And ultimately, let's be clear on this writer/director/producer: Not a run of the mill American jockey.

Why the two pilots? It seems kinda pointless.

But on the other hand, Del Toro, Ron Perlman and Stringer Bell? Sold.

It's the same actress with the same voice filter playing an AI who isn't GlaDOS.

Jeepers, I dunno what kind of trailer you were expecting when it comes to a robot vs kaiju film. Physics? Really? I think this looks fun as hell and although everything Del Toro touches isn't gold, I haven't seen a film by him yet that I found to be complete and utter garbage.

Del Toro announced this back in October. Ellen McLain who does the voice work for GlaDOS would be doing the AI for his movie. They even put her voice through the same process that they did for portal.
