A Christmas Message From Bill Maher
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
I think there might be something a little wrong with wanting nice stuff. It's that constant craving that KD Lang crooned about.
The best things in life are not things.
>> ^VoodooV:
He could be the greediest consumer of all, but that doesn't make his message any less true.
As usual, consumerism is just something that needs to be moderated. Nothing wrong with wanting nice stuff, but there is a limit.
We've just convinced as whole that we "deserve" it and our perception of what is a luxury and what is a necessity becomes more and more unrealistic

woman on the street
her shoes themselves
would light my room
like my candles.
she walks like all things
shining on glass,
like all things
that make a difference.
she walks away

Don't be such a sensitive prick, I wasn't insulting you or him. I read his stuff, I like the one about how people suck and how softness, whinning, and mediocracy prevails. Sitting here and listen to you croon words from a dead man, make him the truth.

I always loved Frank Bennett's cover of Creep, which turns it into a Sinatra crooning by the numbers job. Sadly no video that I can post.
Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made For Walking
She really didn't inherit that Sinatra croon did she?
Tommy Emmanuel playing guitar how it should be done
MINK, jonny, nazdorvia, deathcow, all hit it-to musicians, this guy lacks the quality that developing a sound of one's own produces, but plays the manic, wreckless noodling card off, quite well....like everyone fawning over a guy like buckethead, or Stanley Jordan who can make dreamy sounds, and has an initial presence appeal, but the technical grace can only carry you so far.
Cobain? His tortured, fast-burning flame of soul, wash a white-washed cry for help, and for me, that over-shadows any potential for greatness of merit....just look at the ilk that treat Kurt like a god-buncha manic-depression candidates, coffee addicted and screaming for help in their own way, 20-somethings, with a fried internal navigation system....
another one really gets me pissed-Dave Matthews and his College Cult Crooning, ....that man's shit, runs together like a Jackson Pollock mural-and the kids who worship him wouldn't know good music if it collided with their flavor-of-the-week, world views.....
Doc Watson, Django Reinhardt, Merle Travis-
Jeff Beck, Zappa, Ronnie Montrose, yes, the Winter Bros., hell....Angus Young....whaddya know, most of these guys are either still alive, or lived long lives with smiles on their faces...not needles in their arms, or booze in their livvers.....
Ricky Nelson - Honeycomb
tellin' ya man, "Menfolk, hide yer daughters!"...."and sit up straight when ya' croon, ya' freakin' zombie square!!??"
Glaxo-Smithe-Kline should use this for an anti-depressant advert-
Dresden Dolls cover War Pig
In honour of crooning cuties covering classics - *save
Ukulele Cover of Radiohead's "Creep" (with hottie)

Evanescence - My Immortal live
I'm a sucker for power ballads where the band comes in full force at once, even if she does croon on a bit in this one.
Giant Cat-shaped Monster Attacks Helpless Newborn Kitten
You can hear the momma cat making the universal ripply, crooning call-to-kitten offscreen before she finally finds the little guy.
Lounge versions of "Baby Got Back" & "Personal Jesus"

Love that faux tiger skin jacket, and it did actually sound pretty good. I guess any song can be crooned if you have the voice for it.
