Our Drone Future

chingalera says...

Look to the people who have everything to gain from remaining hidden who are orchestrating this bleak future of surveillance, control, and thought-crime?
How can people do anything but do nothing with 'eyes wide shut' without freeing themselves from the programming that makes each generation more willing to accept anything that may come in exchange for creature comforts from a vending machine or television and an illusory hope of a future?

I got yer point, but the answer is in asking the sensible questions, the simple ones that any journalist knows and fails to press: Who, what, why, when, and where only work if you have no ulterior motives for gathering and transferring information.

Who wants drones everywhere and whom are they to be deployed against, what do they want drones for, why do they want to use them, when, where, you get the gyst?

To answer your inquiry, the only way they can implement this surveillance/domination/fascist future is to create the environment ripe for it, that being a world full of humans unable to think clearly, practically, and critically. In case you are unaware, the stage is being prepared through the same brand of disinformation and misdirection the goddamn Nazis used to dupe Germany, it's simply more sophisticated and polished nowadays.

The world is fast becoming a collection of easily manipulated and controlled idiots, morons, imbeciles and dysfunctional humans...easily convinced of anything they are fed.

Thank God the pep-rally for political pundits and fans of the next big election have died down on the Videosift for it means to me that the far 'left' and 'right' are beginning to realize they have been hoodwinked. Apolitical extremism gives me hope and scares the shit outta me at the same time, because the puppet-masters mean business and have an agenda, and you and I... HUMANITY, are not in their buddy-club.

I'm not entirely certain what you mean, but mainly my point was:
Once the majority of people that watched this happen, right in front of them with eyes-wide-shut, witness, comprehend, and suddenly regret (or if history has anything to say about it, ask themselves "how did we get to this point?!"), the atrocities that will shake them awake will be the result of human error, negligence, foolishness and nature (the same characteristics that got us here in the first place). Not the errors of some out-of-control robot like the video portrays.

And we could have stopped this. A lot of people certainly tried, but we could have done better.

Saturday morning cartoons taught you collectivism! (Politics Talk Post)

choggie says...

^NR-At the core of your own "root ethics" is herd mentality having been spoon fed you through media, society affected by the indoctrination and mind control of the same, and your own individualistic ideals filtered through a collective ideal which is in actuality, an illusion created by those well-versed in controlling large numbers of people-My observations being based solely on your contributions to the sift, and your faith in a system of control and brainwash which used to be something fundamentally different in the early days of it's inception-
Group-think as described here by BF in the D&D cartoon example is part of every cartoon show, every public school classroom, every pep-rally or political event disguised as the same. People in the US have been systematically indoctrinated for years on time-honored models of mass mind control used by the best of the worst regimes throughout time immemorial to amass and concentrate wealth and secure empire. History does, is, and will repeat itself because humans are incredibly predictable. The fantasy created by the machine continues to strip away individualism from the masses as the same become increasingly less educated and subdued by creature comforts and endless mundane and unfulfilled toil-Reality checks become more and more difficult as the mind becomes more saturated with the illusion they create.

Eugenics has become more covert and insidious and mind control more palatable as endless diversion, manipulation of facts, and the systematic dumbing-down of an entire nation continues.

Bring back mallets to the head and TNT-back in the old days, cartoons were part of a special trip to the cinema and the only thing they were trying hard to sell was popcorn, candy, and a cool place to chill out in....well, sort of-Looking back on the early days of media manipulation and mind-control, the tactics look remedial compared to today, to the un-schooled eye.

So Battlestar Galactica is Over. Thoughts? (Scifi Talk Post)

lucky760 says...

No, see you must have missed the part where the abrasive lawyer president guy brought up that exact point and the provided response, which was brilliant as if sent down from the heavens, was: don't underestimate how much people want a clean slate. Yes, all the creature comforts that everyone was fighting and killing and mutinying over was truly just insignificant fodder in the end, especially when you can replace it all with the glorious life of mud huts and spear chucking.

*snip to our increasingly long posts!*

You seem to have the most problem with pure communism really, which is everyone's wage goes into a big bucket and the government decides what to do with it all, irrespective of how much work you individually do.

And I would too.

But that's not how countries like Australia work (or America for that matter).

The quite sane and reasonable idea is that... you earn your wage doing the work that you can do/get and get paid appropriately, some not much, others huge amounts. Out of each person's wage the government takes SOME of it, in an increasing amount as your wage increases (only increases proportion wise, it's not like you do worse off if you earn more, you still earn and keep more money than someone who doesn't make as much).

So, you work more, you get more money to take home, but you also give more back to the country/community that supported you through to the point where you can earn the big bucks. And you give more because you comfortably can, and do so such that those who can't afford to give any of their money over (because they earn only enough to make ends meet) can not be robbed of money to live on.

Now, I've seen it be the case where people seem plenty happy for this to go on while they don't earn much (or anything) and make use of the services provided to them via this measure (education, health, welfare, transport etc. etc. etc.), but once they start earning some coin they start getting all antsy and 'why should I give up my money for others'. You see it all the time.. OR you see those who have grown up privileged, and haven't actually had to make use of the services because their parents were rich... and they get all shitty because 'well, I never made use of those services'.

Now... I earn a very good wage, I'm now in the top tax bracket in this country, and the last government kept giving those of us on high wages larger proportional tax cuts than those on less... and while that meant I had more money in my pocket, I thought that was wrong. I don't NEED that much money... I have a large tv, a great home with a big garden, all the creature comforts, I don't NEED more tax breaks. We're by NO MEANS rich... we aren't, even though I earn a good wage we have three kids and my wife is currently studying, and yeah, we would be happy with more money, but I take that as something I need to make right by working more, getting raises etc. rather than insisting that those worse off than me don't get 'my' money.

It just isn't the way things should be... the community is all about everyone helping everyone else, and if all you have is the sensationalistic media image of 'bludgers' and drunks on welfare, then I think you need to look into things a bit more... No matter what the system there will be those that abuse it, but that doesn't mean you scrap the whole thing because of a couple of bad eggs.

Oh... and what kind of odd comment is it to say that getting a vasectomy is an 'easy' way out for contraception? Surely, if you think you've had enough kids, it only makes sense to do the safest thing and get one so you don't accidentally make more. All the drug methods (men or women) have some pretty bad side effects, the female tube ligation is more risky, and continually using condoms is costly, annoying, mood breaking and prone to accidents.

A very odd viewpoint that one.

The war would be more tolerable if this were the case

Inside Coca-Cola's Happiness Factory - Documentary

spoco2 says...

Yeah... "happy"... a product that includes an addictive DRUG which we peddle to kids as young as pre-school to induce a life-long dependency. How wonderfully happy.

Isn't that kinda your choice as a parent? We don't let our kids have coke at all... they've tasted it in tiny doses, but they don't ever have a cup of it. Of course they have almost exclusively water anyway, with the occasional treat of something else.

Coke has caffeine which has all sorts of effects on us, some good, some bad, but in general it's not hugely addictive (yes it can be addictive to a degree, but NOTHING like tobacco), not hugely harmful, and may actually help in many situations.

In any case, it's my chosen vice. (caffeine, not coke, I don't drink that very often... except if I've been slaving in the garden for hours or something like that, and then, strangely, a cold coke seems like the best thing ever... )

In any case, very nicely animated and realised, and I'm glad they put a tribute to Creature Comforts in there (the penguins in Aardman style), as I was about to say it was huuugely influenced by it.

Are Cell phone towers and HV power lines killing us?

choggie says...

Sham science is no worse than human beings incapable of following instincts with a view to longevity-This planet at the current pace is doomed. You expect the world to be able to sustain China's lust for the trappings of western civ' creature comforts, all 2 billion of em??
Uhhh, worldwide economic collapse and a resulting culling of 2/3rds of the Earth's population, might make this world a better place.....if we do it now, maybe 3 generations from now, we will be able to do it without a carbon copy of the clusterfuck we enjoy now.

Stop shopping for Christ's sake,(we already have enough plastic shit from china to BUILD an artificial satellite) buy used clothes, grow some frikkin' vegetables that have some goddamn flavor, and say yes to hallucinogens....!!!

God I'm glad I'm not a lab-rat insect.....equally as happy that some folks balls start to tingle when they pick up an Erlenmeyer flask fulla goo for a paycheck....to each his own.

Scott Ritter, Seymour Hersh - Target Iran

choggie says...

Realizing it is a complex situation, considering the fact that Iran has aspirations to develop some nuclear program or another (of course not weapons)-coming from the munchkin mulllah moron Akkboobhimongeddjob, what the hell are the people of Iran doing, supporting a fella who does not believe the Holocaust even happened? Why would a nation like saaaaay America or Great Britain want to try and work with a throwback like Maaakmoody, to work towards anything but making sure his little ass has NO ACCESSS to anything remotely radioactive? Is a leader that spews, and a peoples that believe the spew, worthy of the split atom???....Fuck no, let em burn oil candles, and go to bed when the fucking sun goes down.

You need smoke alarms? Contact the countries that have made some progress along the path of 20th century sensibilities.
You need some Geiger-cracklin' substances for your hospitals? Ok....supervised.

You want to build a reactor? Fuck off and die-Live in the dark until you get rid of batshit-insane leaders.

Now, Mr. Ritter, you are obviously disillusioned from your tenured career as weapons inspector or Marine corps intelligence, who knows.....but man, kick the dead horse which is only a symptom of a larger problem, till ya have a heart-attack, your arguments are moot-So what if there were no weapons of mass destruction: At issue, is how leaders can make shit up to get a country behind a war, or why let adolescents play with matches.....
If Saddam had had WMD's, ya think he would have used them? Yes. Did he use chemical weapons to gas Kurds? Yes. Should he have swung by his neck until death...We think so.....so, get rid of lying fuckers before they turn into a major clusterfuck for the planet-

Why do we let Kim Dung Illness continue to fuck up the minds and souls of N. Koreans daily? Because nobody....NO world leaders, have what it takes to call a fucking spade a spade. WHY? Because they are greedy bastards. Why? Because we let them-we are too distracted with shopping and entertainment, to give a flying fuck.

Believe it or not, the only reason we are littering the planet with the numbers of humans in the conditions of imbalance that exist, is energy.
Energy without charge, would alleviate the the need for a world economy, that works for so few, and destroys so many, and so much of the planet.

This addiction to creature comforts in the last 100 yrs, and our willingness to let financiers, lawyers, and governments continue to build this house of cards, is what has caused men (mankind) to turn into pussies, the Brazilian rain forest into a charcoal factory, etc etc etc etc.The New York Society for Ethical Whateverthefuck.....ineffectual circle jerk.
