Strapping Young Lad - Zen

Farhad2000 says...

Okay that "Shoot 'Em Up" cameo has to be explained, it appears in the dumbest plot line progression, the 'Shooter' played by Clive Owen somehow deduces that the baby he has in his possession was born near a heavy metal club because it doesn't cry when it hears heavy metal (SYL) play on TV over some Senator giving a speech.

Stupidest movie ever. I can't believe Clive Owen (Shooter and killer by way of carrots), Monica Belluci (playing a lactating prostitute) and the dude from Sideways (necrophiliac and savant to finding the shooter) even signed on... they must have been doing some crack.

yeah, my buddy matt got the DVD when it came out, and we watched 'em back-to-back.

i remember seeing clive owen in a wing commander game, a wicked long time ago.
was glad he got picked, to play my favorite part from the sin city series.

Thanks bud! I actually purchased the DVD of these when they came out and then promptly forgot about them until today when for some reason I was trying to think when I had first seen Clive Owen act. Agreed about the scope of this ad project-- well-conceived and well-produced! Thanks for the upvotes!

probably the best modern, large-scale advertising promo i can think of.

think this was maybe the best of 'em, too.

Happy Birthday to Cab Calloway (December 25, 1907–November 18, 1994) (Blog Entry by Grimm)

choggie says...

Every Day's a Holiday (1965)-Clive Westlake wrote the lyrics, but Cab does the best version-
There are 4th of Julys in both of your eyes & a Easter Sunday too
'Cause every day is a holiday since the day that I found you
Each heaven on earth day is like a birthday, a May day rendezvous
'Cause every day is a holiday since the day that I found you
They ought to hang the flags out, they ought to close the bank
And though it's not November still I feel like giving thanks
You're a happy new year, a movie premiere, you're a Christmas present too
'Cause every day is a holiday since the day that I found you

Zero Punctuation Review: Assassin's Creed

Zonbie says...

i think this is a great review, he points out its fun and different, and shamelessly brutalises it for its (avoidable) short comings, loved it , but myfavs are still Clive Barker's Clive Barker's : Jericho. By Clive Barker. and MoH: Airbourne LOL

Incidentally, whenever I see a game stuff with more bugs than a cockroach sandwich, I can't help but think "Pushed of the door in time for Christmas"

Twats. Looks like good fun otherwise....

The "Whose Line" Crew Loses It

tmanstark says...

Oh, good heebie jeebies. Drew is the worst of a game show ever - and when he joins in to improv he's like someone who gets the joke 10 minutes after everyone else. He's bad.

Clive Anderson was awesome. He had his own talk show as well. Just classic British, underplayed but hilarious. The american one sucks because it has such little variety in peope who are willing to do it. And they always insist on the hoedown song which should just be banned. It brings the show to a screeching - emphasis on screeching - halt.

if anyone has seen improv teams in real life they wipe the floor with the American team. Wayne Brady sings well and Ryan is fairly quick, but c'mon, even this busting up clip amounts to a big "Huh?" and "Why?" People busting up usually gets me following right along but this was just dumb. Colin's second "meow" was funny tho.

The "Whose Line" Crew Loses It

karaidl says...

British version was good, but I prefered the American. The humor was the same, but at that point they were far more experienced so the improv was about ten times better, and the games were longer. Not to mention Clive Anderson was a pretty sucky host, especially compared to Drew.
