It does feel like they are trying to distance themselves from Romney's stank, but they are also playing up Romney as an underdog victim of a liberal media. I've never known FOX to throw in the towel, so this must be part of some bigger strategy. October surprise?

Looks like Fox is preparing for when it has to say "Look these candidates sucked, we need better ones!"

Pretty interesting how this election is going to affect the Republican party going forward.

TYT - Fox News: "If Ron Paul Wins Iowa It Doesn't Count."

entr0py says...

Yeah, the Republican establishment doesn't want Ron Paul to win, and they don't even want him to be taken seriously. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that they won't give him the status of a serious candidate until it's absolutely undeniable that he is one. And that will take more than one early primary win. Chris Wallace is completely right about the the establishment will react. And he should know, he works for them.

Jon Stewart on Fox News Sunday

KnivesOut says...

Wow, he really got to you. You've been writing that response all night!

Re: that poll. The names of the house majority leader? Yes, Limbaugh raves about Pelosi daily, so his followers know her name well. Boner? Who could forget!

Now ask them about death-panels. What about government funded abortions by way of planned parenthood? What about Obama's birth certificate? Shall I go on?

Your network of choice perpetrates more bullshit than the others combined.

You're just butt-hurt that JS calls them out on it daily, and makes Chris Wallace look like the ridiculous retarded son of an actual journalist.

Kudos to Chris Wallace for at least allowing him to complete each response. If this was an O'Reilly interview among others on Fox News, he likely would never have been allowed to finish a sentence.

Rep Congressman "We're gonna balance the budget!" ok...how??

NetRunner says...

This seems to be the only way the DC press ever "challenges" Republicans anymore. Ask a simple question like "what policies will you enact if elected", press for an actual answer, and let the Repub flounder.

Good on Gregory for not letting him dodge, but it's an almost accidental thing -- Meet the Press is basically a second hour of Fox News Sunday under his stewardship.

But even Chris Wallace nails Republicans from time to time with this same "hard hitting" journalistic method. At least when someone like Chris Matthews does it, he really drives home the rank incompetence of the empty suit he's interviewing for being unable to answer the question.

Chris Wallace's Hard-Hitting Questions for Rush Limbaugh

choggie says...

Fuck Rush Limbaugh...the jeets who listen to him are just as ineffectual as the people who decry him as a fucking hobby...Whens the last march anyone participated in??...Senators and Congressmen throw their junk mail away like anyone else-(Word to the folks who think I pick on certain users on this site: since it seems that the climate is such)

Limbaugh is a diversion. Chris Wallace??, Hard hitting questions?..Those cheesy edits make me dizzy. The news is turning into sound bite rhetorical bullshit no one should be forced to abide-That's the internet news for ya....Bullshit. Issues? Talk Radio has its ad revenue getters, and whatever news program puttiing 2 money-makers together for money's sake, has theirs. Money made on programming people what to think about, how to think about it, when to think about it, why it's important to......etc.

How many nations offered to help when Hurricane Katrina hit a few years later? NONE.

This is patently false. MANY nations in fact offered to help (but were delayed by bush for days before being allowed to). My own country, the Netherlands, sent over marines, ships, and specialized pumps in order to help, and in the greater biloxi area, the first authorities the locals saw were in fact dutch marines, there to drain the area. Many other countries offered large amounts of money in order to help the afflicted people.

While your point regarding america's standing in the world is correct, that does not mean we did not come to help the *people* of america. Our beef is with the government, not the citizens.
