The World of Commander McBragg - Over The Falls
Oh well, I guess no one else loved Under Dog's side cartoons like I did.

Ghost in the Shell VFX Behind-the-Scenes
One view emphasizes events occurring during and after the Allied occupation of Japan (1945–1952), and stresses that manga was strongly shaped by United States cultural influences, including US comics brought to Japan by the GIs and by images and themes from US television, film, and cartoons (especially Disney).
There are two schools of thought on this theory; the link you provided is from someone who believes in the other school of thought, which is fine, but it is not the end all definition. Additionally, I never said the characters weren't Asian in the manga or anime, I said jokingly that they are drawn with western characteristics like the rounder Occidental eyes.
Clearly the original character is meant to be Japanese, and the studio certainly could replace a known actress with lots of draw power with a lesser known actress, but realistically this is meant to make money. Just like "All you need is kill" was redone and cast with money making actors as Edge of Tomorrow. In the end, the studio is selling a product and is going to want to make the most money possible, so casting will almost always go to an actor that pulls a fan base.
@newtboy I wasn't attempting to say that the character was meant to be western, I was merely joking about the art style. Sorry for any confusion I may have put forth.
Uh no, anime characters are not "drawn to look more like westerners"
I think this article explains it well:

Disney's The BFG - Official Full Trailer
Ummmm.....OK. Most of us can keep a real person who lived 3000 years ago and was one of the more popular/influential writers in history, and a cartoon character named after him....at least those of us that read above the 5th grade level.
Or were you confused by the Odyssey episode of The Simpsons and now you can't tell them apart?
They should definitely change Homer's name to avoid people confusing him with The Simpson character.

Loved this cartoon. "Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice..."
Dog eagerly chases chicken ahead while pulling cart 4 owner.
I see someone got their ideas from a 1950's cartoon.
Interesting idea, but probably not so cool for the chicken.

Captain America: Civil War - Trailer 2
Yeah that just... it's not a fucking cartoon, vfx guys!
How and why does Spidey have eyes on his costume that move?
Ren & Stimpy: Never The Same Face Twice
I was a big fan back in '92 and must have watched the toothache episode dozens of times. The bit about the cartoon confronting bodily fluids at the "height" of AIDS fears was bullshit filler, as I remember that was definitely mid to late 80s when people were at their most ignorant about the potential spread of HIV.
Otherwise good post.
Let's Compare ( Classic Pac-Man )
Haha. I remember wanting them. I don't remember if I actually ate them. I think I did. Remember its TV cartoon and music?
Yeah I got sick from eating that cereal too.

Mouse Outwits Cat...Or Does He?
Dude, after that, the mouse HELLA blazed that spliff and the cat got a total contact high -- just like in the 1946 Academy Award winning short, "Tom and Jerry meet Da Chronic" in which Jerry, voiced by Tom Waits, finds Tom's sack of dank and bogarts the lot. It's a great cartoon -- teaches kids the importance of puff-puff-pass and not to ever trust anthropomorphic mice with your weed.
Any other questions?
Can't the cat smell the mouse? What happened after this?
Someone needs to explain this Far Side comic to me (Blog Entry by Sarzy)
I love the far side and I just came across this old thread but My take on this cartoon is it is a serial killer like "Silence of the lambs " he has human arms in the bowl and his lamp shades look like skin shades, and furniture hand made. Normal day for a psychopath. That's my take, I'm usually not such s ghoul
Richard Muller: I Was wrong on Climate Change
Man... I know this was just a slip of the keyboard, but I really think there should be anthropomorphic climate change. It would be like a little mascot made of smog and storms and rising temperature graphs and it'd race around the earth looking for adventure and GHG emissions!
...actually there probably was anthropomorphic climate change somewhere in the old Captain Planet cartoons.
I wonder, what percentage of the "2%" of "scientists" that were not convinced of anthropomorphic climate change have also changed their positions?
clinton and sanders clash during feb 4th democratic debates
When he was telling it the truth and people started applauding for some reason I saw a huge cartoon cock and balls come out of Sanders mouth and give Hillary the finger (not that I don't think that we need a female pres, we do! It's just what I saw!).
