not to judge, but most all Canadians I know dont actually know the Canadian anthem. it always starts off strong ! and FREE.. flowing but gets intertwined with lyrics from stepenwolf and bto, Bryan Adams etc..

Thanks KP and everyone for the lovely pictures. I haven’t actually worn a tux since my prom. It had a plum cumberbun and matched my girlfriend’s hand sewn dress. (Theme: Heaven. Theme song: Bryan Adams –Heaven)

That reminds me, A few weeks before the prom we went out and “parked” at Lion’s Park behind the loop road (you know the place) and cops came and shone flashlights on us until we dressed and drove away.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes – the prom. We didn’t rent a limo, I drove my 1984 clapped out Ford Tempo. It was a pretty sweet ride – but looked out of place pulling up into the hotel where the dance was actually held. The valet kind of sneered at me as he took the keys. I don’t remember much about the rest of the night …

All those moments – not that they were great moments - are gone. But at least every single thing I’ve ever said on VideoSift is here forever. (you were wondering how I’d bring it around, right? Bam! Toastmasters, baby!) Outside of my fab family – videosift is my raison d'être, and I vow to you that it will never die. (unless we run out of money)

So thanks to everyone who continues to make this community flourish, grow and feed my enormous ego. Thanks also to my compatriot Lucky and my tolerant family.

That's what sent us all off... You did label those who enjoy it as brainless dipshits via that comment, and that's what gave us cause for some 'discussion'.

Later you honed that comment to be more along the lines of that you hate people who suggest that this is a great song, which I tend to agree with, but at the same time if said people also enjoyed a wide range of music with integrity and artistic value as well, are they not allowed to think a simplistic, catchy tune is also great?

Still, I'll join in the lament of really great music not being appreciated by the masses, but enjoy listening to what I enjoy.

And to illustrate the point that I have no claim to 'great taste'... here is some of the artists on high rotation in my media player:
The Beatles, Metallica, VAST, The Waifs, Live, The Whitlams, Bryan Adams, Enigma, Chris Isaak, Barenaked Ladies, The Tea Party, David Gray, Green Day, Era, Bernard Fanning, Dave Matthews Band, Marcy Playground, Regina Spektor, INXS, Vivaldi, Pink, Missy Higgins, Meat Loaf, The Wallflowers.

See... in that small sample of what I enjoy I'm sure most people would have some that they'd go 'Nice' to, some they'd go 'Oh my god, how embarrassing', some they go 'Who?' and so on... everyone has different tastes, different RANGE of tastes. I enjoy many, many other artists than those few I just grabbed off my media player, and within them there are sure to be more cringe worthy artists, more 'who's, more 'nice'... let everyone enjoy the full range of what they enjoy.

Spent two weeks in France, eh? For what purpose: Business, pleasure, or to form a Franco-Canadian alliance to invade America? (DRAMATIC LOOK!) Well we're on to you, monsieur. You want our expensive health care and cheap cigarettes. Well you can't have them!

One more reason to send all Canadian sifters to Baffin Island with nothing but a spear and a single laptop - with Windows VISTA! (ANOTHER DRAMATIC LOOK!)
