Robocop Prototypes
Just watched Robocop on blu-ray yesterday. Johnson (black guy with glasses) is hilarious with his creepy perma-grin in that one. And in this clip it's hilarious how closely he's mirroring the old man's body language.
Star Trek TNG Bluray Old Vs New - Unbelievable Difference
They should really start with seasons that don't suck if they expect to generate interest from fans.
Mostly this. In actuality, all of the Rick Berman Star Trek seasons (from TNG to Enterprise) have good episodes and very BAD episodes in them. Season one was predominantly the bad episodes, but there were a few really good ones in it. By season two the balance shifted and it was about 50/50 good/bad episodes. Then by season 3 they hit their stride and it was mostly good episodes with only a few bad ones here and there.
But yeah, if they really want this to fly they should have started with Season 3. I really hope that they keep this up because I'd love to get Deep Space Nine in Blu-Ray, but I don't expect the effort will sustain that long. They are charging and arm and a leg for Star Trek seasons, and I'm just not willing to pay more than 30 to 40 bucks a season for ANY show.
Star Trek TNG Bluray Old Vs New - Unbelievable Difference
>> ^gorillaman:
The old version already exists, is fine and watchable, beloved by millions of people and takes no additional work to produce; whereas the new version, which can barely be distinguished in side-by-side comparisons and not at all in normal viewing conditions, needed a bunch of wasted effort to make. It has consumed human labour to no purpose. Also, it is on Blu-ray so worse by definition.
Obviously I say this as an adult who watches everything in the lowest resolution available. Sometimes I even read books with no pictures at all. 1080p gaylords may have other (wrong) ideas.
I am actually pretty surprised you went for that.
So I guess I was right the first time.

Ok, it's an obvious troll, but what the hell, I'll bite.
Why? Do you actually have a reason or do you just want the kids of your blurry lawn?

'Game of Thrones' with Lightsabers
I recently bought the Blu-ray of season one. I'm only on the 3rd episode or so, but I had no idea it was gonna get this cool.
Huun-Huur concert in full.
I wish I could buy the blu-ray to watch and listen this at home in all hi-def + 7.1 surround sound glory.
Video Game High School (VGHS) - Episode 1
It's not merely a bunch of youtube people. It's really a feature-length film that required actual film crews and ~$60,000 in Kickstarter funds to accomplish (of which $100 I contributed for the Blu-Ray of the finished product and a personal "Thank you" from Freddie Wong ).
Anyway, fun stuff.
Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol vs. Alvin & The Chipmunks
I'll wait for the Blu-ray =o)
The Ikea TV: Gadgets Are Furniture ( IKEA UPPLEVA)
I'm not a fan of 'all in one' solutions. What if you just want to replace the blu-ray player? How do you do that?
Or, then you tire of the tv, but still like the stand etc. Can you get any other tv and have it fit on there? Or are you stuck with only using their tvs on that setup?
Not saying it's a terrible idea, and I do like the idea of no mess... but I'd have to see how this all fits together.
And my setup is pretty neat (unless you look behind the cabinet), and it's 5.1. Sure, I had to climb in the ceiling and do creative wiring to get sound to some rear speakers, but they are now hung up high on the back wall and you don't even notice them visually.
The Stark Children Sing the Game of Thrones Theme
That's adorable...I just got the blu rays and I haven't seen this part yet...totally listening to the commentaries now.
How to Guide: Watch Netflix from Overseas with an Apple TV (Sift Talk Post)
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
That's true. I do torrent TV stuff a bit - but I actually really like Netflix on demand as a discovery service. I've found heaps of obscure TV and documentaries that I probably wouldn't have seen by torrenting - because with torrenting I usually am looking for a particular show already. Netflix is my favourite way to "watch TV" without a TV.

Wow, that's a lot of effort.
You could have just installed XBMC on your AppleTv, torrented what you want to watch and be done with it.
If they don't want to take our money, I'll find the easiest possible option to watch the created content. Currently torrenting tv shows and dropping them into xbmc gives a wonderfully easy to use exprience for myself and my wife.
As the US still seems to think the world revolves around their country, they'll keep losing out.
Why do the movie companies keep thinking I'm willing to pay $5 to download a time limited movie rental, which is more expensive than hiring a physical blu ray disc from the local store (although, who does that these days?). Even though there is no staff to pay to man the store, no handling costs, purely the cost of running the site and serving the data. Which is sweet FA.
Why do they think I'm willing to pay $2 per bloody episode of tv shows in a format that's locked into only being able to be played on apple products, when I can instead buy the entire thing on Blu Ray for $25?
It's insane pricing for one, and then just all out stupidity that they lock out entire countries altogether.
So I run XMBC, I torrent, and then I pay for physical copies of what I like. I won't be jumping through hoops to use a US service if they aren't going to provide it locally.

A few TV notes (Sift Talk Post)
I'm excited for Mad Men coming back, but also just scared that Don will continue to be a dick and become even less likeable...
I don't think Marc Maron's show will be any good... but that's probably because I've become quite sick of Marc and his self reflecting ways.
Dirk Gently might be good to watch with the kids, I read one of the books when I was a kid and liked it.
I keep meaning to watch Downton Abbey with my wife, it's been praised by all and sundry.
The one I'm really excited for though, is Game of Thrones Season 2... ooooh yeah. I'm buying the first season on Blu Ray shortly as it's a rarity in the TV zone of shows I'll actually watch more than once.
Oh... and Warehouse 13... and Eureka (last season of that)... great shows.
Pregnancy Timelapse
Buy the collectors blu-ray for the 'outtakes'.
Game Of Thrones Season 2 Trailer HD
There are no trolls in Westeros. On the Sift however...someone always seems to find one with which to play.>> ^spoco2:

Looks really crappy. Low budget and sort of weak.
Have you seen series one? It's one of the best pieces of television ever. It's wonderfully shot, fantastically acted, funny, shocking, beautiful... it's just an awesome series.
And this is coming from someone who hasn't read the books, had no vested interest in it at all.
I'm almost certainly buying it on Blu Ray, and that's saying something as I'm really not into re-watching tv shows as a rule.
