The Air Force is an outdated and unnecessary branch of the armed forces. Both the Marine Corps and the Navy have their own air wings, and the USMC, Army and Navy all have choppers.

The only thing the Air force has that the others don't is the whole cyber thing. And I could be wrong on that one.

I say dismantle it and transfer needed functions to the other branches.

Lol, funny enough, this conversation was with a Marine buddy of mine and some friends. For some reason when drinking with any of my marines buddies, conversations always come down to poop.. or other such interesting things. =P

But when it comes down to the USMC, all I know is that is that I wouldn't be able to handle being in the USMC. I thought I could.. till I was told about "The Silver Bullet". The fact that I overheat when I pt on my own that if I were to go on a 6 mile hump in 92 degree weather and hydrated every 5 minutes I'd still pass out easy and the idea of gettin "The Silver Bullet".. *shivers* no thanks.. =P

if that was your 'real' question, then it seems like a legitimate question to me. because to anyone as under the limelight as a presidential candidate, there'll be very few casual choices made. can be a little like the work of great movie directors: almost nothing winds up onscreen by accident. can't afford to run a sloppy campaign, in the information age.

personally my answer would be, "meh. don't think i'd particularly care, even if it were true. even if it were bush, instead, wearing the tee and shootin' hoops. though if he was still wearing the fuckin' codpiece, i'd be suspicious."

i don't doubt their sincerity. but personally, i don't see a thoughtful, organized protest against aggressive recruitment, here. i've seen those. they know the specific recruitment tactics they are protesting. this doesn't look like that, to me.

and maybe i'm being cynical here, but i suspect half of what Berkeley's pissed about? is NIMBY. and if so, i say fuck that.

i find many of the Code Pink events to be honorably conceived, but poorly organized & executed.
know who they could learn from, in that regard? the USMC.
though i share the anti-war sentiment that the community of Berkeley is expressing? i think they're expressing it poorly. and that the Daily did a good job of pointing that out, because exposing hypocrisy is what they do best.

and if the hypocrisy comes from a group i associate myself with?
