Zero Punctuation: Thief The Dark Project
"lot less wealthy somehow" - WIN. "Is that your hat." ... "Origami polio victims"... oh man, classic. Ah, the SS John Romero. This was one of those classic clips that you wanted to watch twice to catch the jokes again.
Zero Punctuation: Thief The Dark Project
10 thumbs up for reviewing one of the best game series of all time.
Thief II's in my personal top 5.
Stealth + compelling story w/masterful writing + misanthropic antisocial loner antihero + mecha gandalf nemesis + natural magic vs steampunk technology + sprawling non linear gameplay = gaming nirvana !!!
+bonus thumb up for sinking SS John Romero reference ee hee hee.

George Romero taught us the folly of trying to control things that eat brains.

For me personally there is no greater litmus test for President Obama to fulfill then to revoke and repel the civil rights infractions passed through the 8 years of Bush rule under the guise of fighting terrorism.

Friday the 13th (2009) - Trailer for the Remake coming 2009
>> ^lampyman:
oh wow. another remake. i am so excited. how can we ever be satisfied with the crappy original attempt at any film ever...(day of the dead, dawn of the dead, invasion of the body snatchers (4 remakes),chainsaw massacre, omen, halloween to name but a few). remake citizen kane next and 2001 , and why stop there. theres a billion films we can shaft over the alter of no imagination. i really wish hollywood would start thinking about new ideas and stop remaking (or to use their language 'reimagining' [shudders in disgust])and have an original idea or at least have enough integrity to attempt to make the film not cash in on the reputation of another (call it something else for a start). light weight, plageristic, no talent, cynical money grabbing feckwits AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!. [lampyman reaches for a bottle of scotch to sooth his frazled nerves]
Fuck this nonsense! This conservative propaganda is akin to saying that once a play has been performed it should never be performed again due to the differing actors and director. The remake of Halloween by Rob Zombie is a far superior film to the first. Furthermore, the remake of Dawn of the Dead is one of the best zombie movies ever made. This is being said by a die hard Romero fan damn it. Shove your scotch up your ass.
Richard Cheese - "Down With The Sickness," Dawn Of The Dead
I love both versions of this movie. Same with "Night", I like both the main versions of that (original by Romero, remake by Savini).
Zombies - Braiinns - I Mean...Yoooogaaa?!
I think it's great. I'm happy to see a growing concern for both mental and physical well being in the Zombie community. These Zombies would have been laughed at by Romero era Zombies, and even the cardio-obsessed Boyle era Zombies showed little interest in a higher consciousness. If this trend keeps up, we might even start to see vegetarian Zombies, which would certainly put my brain at ease.
Brokeback of the Dead
Needs a Romero tag in there.

That was exactly what I wanted to say, but I couldn't remember Boyle's name. Great minds.
In reply to this comment by dystopianfuturetoday:
Yeah, that was quick. You are clearly more of a Danny Boyle zombie than a George Romero type. Congrats, friend.
UhOh. Zombies goes 100 (Sift Talk Post)

DAY of the Dead Trailer (2008 Remake)

Your Top Ten Horror Films. (Blog Entry by dystopianfuturetoday)
Good list, DFT. My top 10 would probably be similar to yours. Let me try.
1 - The Shining
2- The Ring
3 - Misery
4- Alien
5 - The Thing
6 - Poltergeist
7 - Dawn of the Dead (2004 version - Sorry hardcore Romero fans)
8 - Cujo
9 - Friday the 13th
10 - Children of the Corn
Honorable Mention: The Others, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street
I love Jacob's Ladder and Shaun of the Dead, but I just think of them in a different genre than horror. Because creating a list of worst horror films would be too painful, here are a few horrorish guilty pleasures instead:
1 - Killer Klowns from Outter Space
2 - The Lost Boys
3 - Army of Darkness
Duke Nukem Forever trailer
Non-A-Mous, is that you?
This teaser is such a tease! I guess that's the point really. It's hard to make anything of what they show us here. All we have are the years of video-crumbs and big-talk on the level (probably surpassing)of John Romero on his precious Daikatana, always followed by a "when it's done". Still fairly optimistic about the game. The fact that they've scrapped what they've done with this game at least 3x over shows me that they want to get it right or not at all. Of course, I'm disgruntled over how long it's taking but if the final product turns out better as a result, no harm done.
Please don't change the atmosphere/mature content of the game for all ze 360-generation kiddies either.
