"Shake Hands with the Devil" trailer -- the Rwanda Genocide
*doublepromote this incredibly moving account of what was happening while so many were transfixed by the spectacle of the OJ Simpson trial.
Psychochemical Dumbing-Down of Society
I don't know anything about the autism correlation or cause.
But I do know mercury is fuck shit dangerous.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_%28element%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thiomersal#Allergies
What that means is that they cannot prove people are getting sick from Thiomersal, or that they aren't. There simply isn't enough data to go on. That is why the The Hannah Poling Case was ruled in favor of the plaintiff, and damages were awarded. There was a direct correlation with the vaccinations, she had contracted "vaccine-induced varicella." However a month later she was diagnosed with Autism. But that is where speculation begins. How did they know, precisely, that the vaccines caused the Autism? I don't know and I don't have the time to read more of the court document.
I know that they won the case because it was Civil, Preponderounce of Evidence is all that is needed to win that case. That is why OJ Simpson was cleared of criminal charges for murder, but ordered to pay out for the wrongful death of Nicole Brown.
Just because there is a correlation does not prove causation.
As I understand it science can't disprove that vaccines didn't cause the sickness, only that the likely hood of that taking place is less likely than one might think. Meaning? It could be possible, like there could be a god, but probably not.
Now for my opinion of chemicals. If there is even an ounce of doubt in your mind, then it should not be used. It is your free choice once they start forcing it, then we have a problem.
Proper science needs to be taught here. Just because there are a million studies that prove it to be safe doesn't mean there can't be a fluke. The same can be said in reverse. My wife likes to say, "A tree could fall on you too," to which I reply, "It sure could."
As if saying that it could happen means you shouldn't prepare for it. Trees are treacherous.
Read the fine, fucking, print.
http://smallbiztrends.com/2010/02/always-read-the-fine-print.html
Here's some fine print:
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm#flu
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm#spox
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm#dtap
I'll stop here, side-effects are depressing. Sure the rare ones are rare, but they can still kill you. Never let that; "They are rare" fool you into taking something that could possibly complicate matters. Always weigh the risks.

Courtroom brawl - Son attacks his mom's killer/rapist

...if the guy had been found beyond the shadow of a doubt, innocent.
That is the standard for proving guilt, not innocence.
The problem is, if even ONE innocent man/woman ever got killed by the death penalty...
It has happened multiple times.
Actually, I believe the standard for proving guilt in a criminal case is proof beyond a reasonable doubt, not a shadow of a doubt. Beyond a shadow of a doubt is far to high of a bar to set for the justice system, most defendants would be acquitted. In a civil case the usual standard is that a claim is proven or not based on a preponderance of evidence. This is why someone like OJ may be acquitted on criminal charges but lose the related wrongful death suit even though on some level it might be considered double jeopardy.

^I live in a fairly safe neighborhood. I live a few blocks from where OJ murdered his wife.
Regardless, it doesn't matter what the majority thinks, because we have the right to bear arms. No manner of democratic process can remove that right... though that doesn't stop them from augmenting it heavily. If you think it would be safer in the US without guns, it's really just an armchair evaluation, isn't it?
I wouldn't presume what works best for you in your country.
Obama comments on Arrest of Harvard Professor
I want to let the independent commission do it's job. If it is truly independent, and they actually base their decision on the facts and not race politics, the truth will bubble to the surface. From the evidence I have seen (not hearsay or opinion), the actions the police took were justified and according to protocol.
The previous weeks in Cambridge involved multiple home invasions in that area. During the day. Front door busted in. The police were on high alert, and reacted accordingly to a 911 emergency call to investigate a potential invasion/burglary in progress.
Mr Gates should take care not bite the hands that protect him, his home, and his community. Should he really need their help in the future, he wouldn't want them to be hesitant or second guess their actions in a dire situation where mere moments could mean life or death.
Police have reasonable doubt when approaching any emergency situation. Cooperate, be cordial, answer any questions asked clearly and accurately, and their defensive posture to protect THEMSELVES will diminish. Verbally assault them and refuse to immediately fork over identification or cooperate in a cordial manner. You are going to jail. Who cares how rich or famous you are.
I'm sorry to say, but all evidence points to a race/class card being played. This is going to hurt Prof Gate's credibility here on out for certain. Time will tell where this leads, though it won't be the first time where someone slipped through the law's fingers as a result of the race/celebrity card being played...or have we forgotten OJ already? At least bad karma caught up with that guy. Sure this isn't murder, but it once again proves that money, name, and 'friends' in high places makes one immune to the laws that the rest of us are required to abide by.
FYI I am a local resident, know the area well, and understand the crime situation. Bank Robberies, burglaries and other crimes are on the rise with the bad economy. A lot of people are hurting, and some people are desperate and take measures they should not.
Gates is well advised to be quiet, let the commission investigate, and stay out of the lime light. Let the system work. Though he likely wants some press attention to get his books some direly needed plugs.

Sucks to get a grumpy judge that sets the sentences consecutively..
"Judge: Now we're up to 8 life times"
"OJ: Aw, man."
Best of Nordberg (OJ Simpson in Naked Gun)
Poor OJ got 33 years today, and he's eligible for parole in just 9 years. I'm hoping he leaves prison in a hearse.
