McDonalds Commercial - J.C Petite

McDonalds Commercial - J.C Petite

After a week of contemplation... (Wtf Talk Post)

MycroftHomlz says...

It is irrelevant to this discussion, but I decided I wanted to take some time away from the sift to reflect on some events that happened a week ago.

I would like to talk about what in my opinion went wrong with how we handled A. McD. Here are some guidelines I would like to set:

1) Do not name him. I would like this discussion to have a low profile. After this paragraph I will try not to name him. If I do, I will refer to him as "Morning Sickness".
2) Please do not promote, or sticky this post.

I am not defending this affliction. I do not think what happened was OK. "Naming and Shaming" may have been the most appropriate recourse, but 'how' that recourse was reached is what I disagree with. I feel Dag was justified in his actions, but justified and right aren't always the same thing.

The point of this discussion is to establish a measured protocol should things like this happen in the future, this is my position.

Officer Rivieri at it again

viewer_999 says...

I think maybe taking away the paid vacation might be in order.
Seriously, let's talk firing. The guy shouldn't be an officer of the law. Let him go find a job at McD's. You can clearly see he loves the fries.

"Owner" is probably McD's and I'm betting they probably wouldn't want to let anyone use it. Of course, I could be wrong. <shrug>

This video is awesome. I'm making a documentary about customer service right now and am wondering where I can get a good quality copy of it -- and who owns the right to it. I'll pay $$ for the copy and get in touch with whoever owns it myself -- if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it... pls. email me at arikalisanne@yahoo.com.

"New Job" Mom gets a Job at McDonalds

honkeytonk73 says...

I wonder if a job at McD's includes health insurance with special coverage for removal of polyps formed in your arse after eating too much of that crap!

stupidest kid's toy: MCD's cash register. Yes, lets train our kids to work at McD's starting at 4 years old. It sure makes a great paying job at 30!

SuperSize Me

viewer_999 says...

It is absolutely not cheaper to go drop $7 at McD's than it is to stay home and make a single serving of pasta with tomato sauce for 87 cents. But it does require less effort. Energy problems? Stop the cycle of caffeine and sugar crashing from drinking a liter of soda and/or coffee every day, and get some exercise instead.

If people would take a little bit of interest in and care of themselves, McD's (etc.) wouldn't be in the business they're in right now, and then people wouldn't have to blame others for their stupid mismanagement of their lives.

VideoSift User Survey (Sift Talk Post)

joedirt says...

Democrat OR Republican. McD OR BK. Pepsi OR Coke.
Would it KILL siftbot to include "Independent" and "Don't Care"
Also why do those occupation surveys always leave off the single largest profession, Engineering?

I liked the little Exploit stuff at teh beginning, it made me look twice. Yeah, I agree the One activity question is lame. You left off email, IM, googling/reading webpage, online news, downloading mp3s and movies, etc.

Vote Different

BicycleRepairMan says...

McD or BK. Take your pick. Do you want Coke or Pepsi to ruin your country and spend all your money?

Well, if you are talking dems vs republicans is pepsi/coke, well I also disagree with alot of the dems views, but face it, when you look at the people who actually have been presidents, as opposed to those striving to be one, you cant help but to wonder.. What are their motives, their goals? personal fortune, money?, Power? or is there something real there, like an urge to help, or change things for the better? In this light, I would suggest looking at what ex-presidents do, after all, they've already had the power and glory, now what can they do?`Look at Carter, ever since leaving, he has been a strong peace advocate, a negotiator and uniter.. look at clinton, his foundation and his fight against HIV/Aids. None of them had to do any of that, and indeed I cant think of any republicans who have done similar things, Nixon retired in shame, Reagan, well he got ill, Bush Sr. continued to pet the Bush clan business relations, and pulled the strings on junior so he could fuck up everything he himself never got around to fuck up.

I cant Imagine Dubya going into charity work on retirement day either..

Again, not saying the democrats are all angels or something, but there seems to be this fundamental gap in the sort of values these two blocks represent. The only "decency" to speak of among the republicans seems to be this rather fake and mad "christian values" they profess. Values derived from 2000 year old judean life and war rules that doesnt make sense in the 2007 western world.

Both parties use the same lies and rhetorical clichés to win the votes, but the real test is what they do with the power when or if they get it

McDonald's now advertises on the Iron Chef!?!

joedirt says...

Yeah, some McD apologist on here tried to say, uh maybe they accidentally hit the commercial queue button early and it was a glitch.

No, sorry, you don't just get random accidental graphics on network TV broadcasts. Period. Or else there would be a lot more 'accidental' pornographic images, or maybe the occasional 'Vote for Ike', maybe a 'Get the F- out of Iraq'...

This is total crap. Food Network got caught and busted. I still have a theory that this was a Tivo ad-insertion. And it went wrong. Everyone on the internets who mentions this Iron Chef thing is showing it from their Tivo..

I love the assertion that it is "only a red flash" therefore it is ok. They miss the whole point of subliminal.

Hillary announces Prez Run

joedirt says...

For one I agree with QM... The whole system is a joke. You've got your choice of McD or BK.. Coke or Pepsi. Hillary or Rudy. Bush's or Clinton's. I still think Jeb might be coming in a VP, but Georgie probably made such backlash aganst anymore Bushes..

Food Network & McDonald's: subliminal advertising?

joedirt says...

Ironic and scary article. I found THIS article about FoodNetwork is the new MTV with young viewers and new ad campaigns, like McD... Wasn't MTV accused of subliminal ads back in the day. How very ironic.

She has won over such youth-oriented advertisers as McDonald's (MCD, news, msgs), Anheuser-Busch's (BUD, news, msgs) Michelob and Monster Worldwide (MNST, news, msgs). And major studios hawk such fare as "Talladega Nights" and "Elizabethtown" on the network

This article discusses the 2006 KFC subliminal ad (really a secret message) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11628155/ that ran on every network but ABC and the FCC publicly stated there is nothing wrong with subliminal messages.

By the way, I found this by accident.... It goes along with QM post about subliminal messages. http://www.tvgasm.com/shows/food-network/some-things-jus-2657.php

Ronald McDonald Kicks Ass

Fox News takes Rep. Wexler from the Colbert Report out of context ("I enjoy cocaine because...")

joedirt says...

I'll answer for Charon, TheNation is so left, that's why their studies consistently show their version of the 'liberal media bias'. I love the weak minded response by Charon. I hear it often, saying how liberal=big gov't and how far, far to the left MSNBC/CNN are. It's is truly, sadly laughable. All of them are corporate media, and any 'reporting' they do is filtered through ad revenues, ratings, and corporate interest. Period. Corporate media presents this fake differentiation to make them seem different, or even covering all biases, but in reality... it's just McD and BugerKing. Both take marching orders and editorial cues from the heads of these mega-corps that are controlled by as much money as politicians.

As for the seriously laughable 'big gov't' democrats... You are sadly an idiot. Look at how much gov't grew under Clinton and the biggest budget surplus in modern history. Now look at Bush's gov't under the worst deficits in.. well ever. Reagan, check. Bush Sr., check. This myth is brilliant that somehow democrats grow the gov't and republicans are fiscally responsible. Show me one scrap of evidence of ANYTHING you say. "both parties are corrupted, the Democrats more so"... You really must get your news from Fox News, because no one that can read would agree with that over the last few years.
