In gun store private sales, that's how California does it.
Does it stop all criminal sales? Clearly not. Does it minimize them and hold illegal sellers who ignore the law accountable for what others do with the guns they illegally sold, making illegally selling a criminal your gun insane? Yes.
If it was the law nation wide, would it severely curtail the illicit gun trade, and have a positive impact on gun crime rates? Absolutely, zero question.
Would it stop it altogether? Duh, no, no law is a panacea, the death penalty doesn't stop all murders, but it definitely stops most. That is not how law works. No law has EVER stopped the crimes they regulate altogether except those that legalize the crime out of existence....like legal marijuana eradicated illegal pot smokers completely.

Yes, and no.
Psychedelic, sure. Total ego death infinite out of body experience, nothing close.
Edibles, smoking flowers, smoking or eating concentrates, no. Trust me, I've tried. ;-)
There's a huge difference between somewhat psychedelic and his description. HUGE.
Is it possible, probably yes, but imo only if he's extraordinarily susceptible to thc (or another cannabinoid)or psychotic episodes (which I think I read can be triggered by marijuana).
It's far more likely if the story is true that he unintentionally took lsd, pcp, or some other long lasting psychedelic (I think dmt wears off too quickly to include it).

Mental defect doesn't mean mental illness. It means your brain chemistry might be abnormal and react abnormally to drugs. Parkinson's isn't considered mental illness for example.

This story was about him stupidly taking totally unknown drugs from unknown sources, why on earth are your panties in such a bunch because I stated the obvious, that this is not a normal marijuana overdose experience?

Classic "I'm a pro drug guy" comments here. "I've never been that high so they must have been on some other drug". Guess what dumbass, everyone is different and reality is subjective. I've heard of many people having similar experiences on edible marijuana. Just because it didn't happen to YOU, does not mean it cannot be that way for others!! And how can you say "with confidence" about a situation you have no facts from? You can't. And to top it off you dismiss this person's experience by suggesting they could be mentally Ill. I don't think Utah even has medical marijuana yet. They have some really strict liquor/drug laws. It's like the bible belt of the western U.S. Still, absolutely gorgeous for sure.

As a person who has ingested over an oz of AAA quality marijuana in a single sitting, I will confidently say there was something else in those brownies to have this effect....unless he has a mental disorder. This is not a normal reaction to excess thc. I expect he unintentionally just got wet (pcp).

Ok...his brother died from alcoholism, which turned him hard core against drugs like opioids and marijuana, and a little bit against alcohol.
Typical Trump, misidentify a problem then attack something else. Want to help keep citizens alive? Make marijuana legal and alcohol illegal. States with legal marijuana all have lowered rates of opioid deaths in their states.
