Eroding Electoral Confidence | Full Frontal with Samantha Be

enoch says...

@bobknight33
you realize chaos is from new zealand right?
so while the democratic party may be a disgrace, unless the party is GLOBAL,it certainly is not HIS party.

i truly do not understand your (or anybodies for that matter) continued loyalty to this broken, dysfunctional and utterly corrupt two party dictatorship.

i have no issue with you pointing out the rot that has been bleeding out the democratic parties metaphorical ass.during this election cycle the DNC was caught with their hand in the cookie jar.they were exposed as the rotten and corrupt institution we all had suspected, but couldn't prove, rigging the primaries, changing the rules of application to keep people off the primary ballot (laurence lessig),and crushing one of the most promising, and politically energized campaigns by bernie sanders.(who, just like ron paul, raised his war chest on small donations).

hell, even the recent jill stein voter recount exposed even MORE DNC voter manipulations and fraud!

but are you SERIOUSLY going to sit there, and with a straight face, attempt to make the case the republicans are better?

that they are NOT just as vile, rapacious and corrupt as the democrats?

you think the democrats are the ONLY half of this two party duopoly that engages in voter fraud?
see:crosscheck
or crushes any politician that does not tow the party line?
see:ron paul

can you REALLY,without any sense of irony or sarcasm, tell me that the republican party represents YOU?

the one thing that has given me hope during this past presidential election is that my fellow americans seem to finally be getting it,finally understanding that neither the democratic party nor the republican party represent "we the people".

they represent:wall street, big banks, the military industrial complex and multi-national corporations.

and of course....their own continued power and political domination.

binary politics does not work anymore.
this false left/right dichotomy does not work anymore.
this "lesser of two evils" is no longer acceptable..any...more.

but i gather it still works for you bob.
what a waste..
you seem a decent sort, but to continue to identify with a party that has thrown you overboard decades ago....is just sad.

and i guess you will be just like those obama voters who became disturbingly silent while obama:expanded executive powers,NDAA of 2012,zero indictments to the criminals on wall street, prosecuting more whistleblowers than any other president combined, obamacare(the biggest gimme to the health insurance industry and big pharma),assasination programs, kill lists, expanding military operations into 6 other sovereign countries, regime change in libya...

those little pussies became good little apologists, and it appears YOU ...
bob..
will become a good little pussy and do your partisan duty, and turn into a dutiful little apologist for trump and the inevitable atrocities that are most certainly heading our way.

you know,i do not always agree with chaos, but at least he has BALLS.he stands for something.
you are just rooting for a certain team, might as well be rooting for the packers.
it is just so tired and WEAK...

eh..maybe you are just messing with chaos, but if that is the case, could you bring a little more flair and energy?
your technique is a tad..stale.

so step it up BOB!
your putting the audience to sleep.

How a country slides into despotism (from 1946)

Oh yes, the delicious irony of post-WW2 segregated america. Thank god negroes aren't people, am I right?

Still, upvoting the message. Sadly, it still needs to be heard.

SNL - The Bubble

The real irony is that economic hardship hits Seattle folks quite hard. We lose 20 families a week to cost of living problems, and our homeless tent cities are near legendary by now. We have 'economic anxiety' right here in River City. Still didn't vote for a sexual predator.

Ghost in the Shell (2017) - Official Trailer

SDGundamX says...

Japanese people don't care that the actress is not Japanese. The original creators don't care that the actress is not Japanese. Does no one else see the terrible irony that the people complaining loudest about Scarlett Johansson being cast in this role are mostly privileged white people?

I'd be curious if these same people complained about Tom Cruise being the lead in Edge of Tomorrow or Justin Chatwin playing Goku in the 2009 Dragonball movie. And I'd be more curious to hear what Asian box office star should have been cast in these roles to attract the audiences these movies needed to recoup their production costs.

Sure, Mr. and Ms. educated liberal-progressive might go to see these movies even if they are cast with relatively unknown Asian actors but would that be enough to justify production of the movie in the first place?

This movie is an ADAPTATION. Adaptations are not supposed to be literal translations of the source material. What would be the point in that? I don't think a lot of people who watched the Lord of the Rings films, for instance, could have stomached being bombarded for minutes at a time with bad poetry by Tom Bombadil.

They made the right decision on this film. In this case, people who know nothing about anime are going to show up for this movie just to watch Johansson kick ass. And if they like it a lot they are going to be interested in learning more about the original source material, in which case they'll obtain a lot more Japanese cultural knowledge than they would if some "Asian-looking" person had been cast in the role in the first place.

Whether this movie will actually be any good or not... it's really impossible to tell from this trailer.

Well, thank you, totally unknown actors. Of course I value your opinions more than that of your successful colleagues, you, who are so well known for making noticeable decisions, dear completely unimportant actors.

Oh, the irony.

John Oliver - Refugee Crisis

RedSky says...

Right, the Russians who prop up a dictator whose almost immediate response to the Arab uprising was to fire on the protesters and who terrifies his people into submission with barrel bombs and chemical weapons - they're the good guys.

See here's the funny thing. You or whatever you're reading is stuck in the Cold War mindset of the US intervening to prop up murderous dictators against the perceived threat of communism. However now that it's Russia intervening on behalf of its favored dictators you're too stuck in your narrative to see the irony of your position.

Russia is only intervening against ISIS to the extent it props up Assad. The US still of course supports dictators when it is in its economic interests (see Saudi Arabia and implicitly supporting its war in Yemen) but the fact that it's largely avoided arming the government or rebel groups in Syria, neither of which have their hands clean should indicate a lesson learned from arming the mujaheddin against the Soviets in Afghanistan, not a mistake.

Spacedog79 said:

You do realise it was Russia and China who were against causing the clusterfuck in Syria in the first place? At least in Iraq we bothered to come up with an excuse to go to war, even if there turned out to be no WMD. In Syria we didn't even bother to do that, we just said Assad is a bad person and sent in mercenaries and lots of guns and called them rebels and freedom fighters and watched the whole place blow up. Assad is such a bad person? Compared to the Saudi's? The Russians are the only ones who have stopped the place become an ISIS state by now.

Taking Personal Responsibility for Your Health

newtboy jokingly says...

Ha, giving your opinion about someone who made factual accusations about a doctor's opinion blog rather than touch on any of the factual accusations themselves.

Oh the irony.....

BTW, the doctor is just some bozo that is trying to make money selling a lifestyle through blogs, websites, books, and paid appearances by using exaggeration, extrapolation, and cherry picked data and studies.
He's doing whatever it takes to get people like you to buy his stuff and give his sites traffic.
Also this.....

EDIT: BTW the blogger is just some bozo that is trying to justify her reasons not to be fully vegetarian/vegan, by using character assassination.

She's doing whatever it takes to clear herself from any responsibility or guilt.

Why don't doctors insist on vegetarian diets? Probably because the science doesn't actually say what he claims.

Iowans Sue to Stop Dakota Access PIpeline

The irony that a handful of obstructionists fighting to stop something approved by democratically elected officials is being promoted by "Democracy Now" is too rich to ignore. Maybe they need to rename their organization "Anarchy Now" or maybe "Sc**w Democracy, this is what WE want"

I know all this...ED2 is one of my favorite movies. I was not implying a lack of creativity, only the irony of the juxtaposition of 1. A shot for shot remake vs 2. A seemingly original plot. ED was also quite an original, but not 2, as good as it was.

Uhh, that was the point of Evil Dead II.

He (Raimi) did a super-low budget film with his friends and found big cult success, a film studio wanted to capitalize, but thought the production values were too low, so paid them to re-shoot the whole thing.

No lack of creativity to blame there.

A Woman's Guide to Woodworking - Building an End Table

Asmo says...

Is it the bit where she ineptly tries to be ironic by adding on pointless bits like "how to apply mascara"? Maybe the silly double entendres about screwing etc? Or the flip flop between "I'm just a helpless woman who can't do anything" to "Fuck sake people, of course I can do this"..?

Irony is only irony when it reverses expectations. Perhaps this would be hilarious to a person who honestly believes that she is the ditsy centerfold she spends half the video making out to be. Maybe if she maintained some sort of constant narrative rather than flipping between polar opposites, it wouldn't have landed so flat for me.

That being said, it's all subjective. I don't view women as incapable, subservient morons, so attempts to play up that view as the predominant one don't really get much traction with me...

She can change a tyre and make a decent end table, but she's a shit comedian.
