Fault Lines: The Top 1%

shagen454 says...

The article you link to is automatically untrue by the statement that if one owns a home in San Francisco and they sell it - they will become apart of the top 1% for that year. Having a million $$ in the bank these days does not constitute as the top 1%. So, unless you have a house that you can sell for much more than a mil you're no where near the amount someone in that bracket has. Supposedly, the top 1% earners make nearly a half mil a year, which probably doesn't include investments & bonuses. This is not the same as the wealthiest top 1% who have money in the family or were the CEO of Blizzard or Microsoft.

The wealthiest top 1% has owned 40%+ of wealth in the country since the late 20's. More and more people have been born, inflation soared through the roof yet the percentage of wealth to the same percentage of people remains nearly the same.

Face it, both the Republicans and Democrats are fraudulent, corporate, whores. They bend over backwards for these old goofballs who own the political spectrum. It's just a fucking fact, wake up!

"Americans in the top one percent, like Americans in most income brackets, are not there permanently, despite being talked about and written about as if they are an enduring 'class' — especially by those who have overdosed on the magic formula of 'race, class and gender,' which has replaced thought in many intellectual circles."

That “Top One Percent”
Not an enduring class

Actually they are making this for the PC for that very reason. The tech has been out not being utilized. You can read about it here.

They are doing exactly what you are saying and it's going to look awesome for it.

And seriously antimatter? No it doesn't feel like that. Get off the high horse. Like asmo said, you don't like the world condition, go do something about it.
>> ^shagen454:

I'm going to come in hear and spout my gremlin ideas. So, is this for a console as well? It looks good but just imagine if the industry wasn't supporting shitty consoles how much better PC games would be looking right now? Even though PC games are going through a low-fi, indie, artsy phase right now, which I think is totally rad; we could have blazing tech going as well, far and above consoles.
The other thing I had on my mind is these games "look" good but after about five minutes my mind goes numb and I nearly fall asleep. I hate the pacing of games like this, CoD, ect. Give me more games like Amnesia where you almost never see an enemy but you're also about to shit your pants every two minutes or even 50/50 stealth-action like the last Splinter Cell where you actually have a damn choice of anything, shit, I dislike this crap for being war pornography but I'd rather play a massive/realistic game like Arma I or II - hell, I'd rather go back and play the original Operation Flashpoint where you get one-shotted from an unknown enemy after you just spent two hours traversing through a dark forest trying to figure out where that damn tank was that you wanted to avoid. Immersive tension motherfuckers, learn it, use it, enjoy it.

lets ban road runner cartoons.

The more violence in art in general the better ( instead of real life i dont mean all art shud be viloint or that more art needs to be viloint) if anything it highlights the obserdity of real war also games like this are about as close to real war and violence as pacman.

And?

People are dying and "eating shit", as you so quaintly put it, right now in abject poverty all over the planet. And you're bitching on the internet like so many other armchair activists. Isn't there something better you could be doing? \= )

If You Were Thinking Japan Needs an Anti-Tsunami Wall...

It's a bay right next to a fault line where the surrounding fjords will focus any incoming tsunami onto them. They could easily rebuild up in the hills instead of down in the most vulnerable area.

Geologist Jim Berkland Predicts California Earthquake Soon

bamdrew says...

I think the the idea is supposed to be that certain moon position can cause tides that put a somewhat heavier, shifting load down on different sections of tectonic plates.

Apparently his correlation statistics have a habit of being debunked, but his claim is just 'here is a window when it could potentially be more likely, maybe, that fault lines would be under increased stress and shift'.

What a laugh! This guy is an idiot. The only places he left on the map were either along a fault-line, perfect place for a hurricane or in swamps. I'll keep my frost thank you very much. Cold temperatures have the advantage of no poisonous animals, unless you count Michelle Bachmann.

Fault Lines - Cornel West

geo321 says...

He's got a great world view in that he's open minded and sees the best of a person first, even if that person is a bigoted asshole. It must take a lot of intellectual charactor to be so generous to everybody, especially those that treat you like an enemy.>> ^Aniatario:
Cornel West strikes me as a man that could make a theist out of me easily..
