This is purely about Disney needing to Reset all their property Trademarks. They need to remake every property they have in order for the licensing to remain intact and not fall into Public Domain.

They are doing this for every singe animated move they've made.

Loved the first one, but this sequel just looks like an extended Disney commercial. Hope it's not.

Cool. I kinda liked the 2016 Disney Jungle Book movie, but they certainly need some reminders about what the public part of Public Domain means. They've benefited massively from it in the past century, but they are working really hard to try to prevent anyone else from doing the same in the next century...

Disney's frantic race to release new movies of old characters in order to maintain their Trademarks on the characters and stories.

Look back at their releases, it's a known trend.
Seriously, look at their movie releases over the last 4 years and the upcoming release titles.

Sounds like a description of pretty much every movie ever made. This one, like all those, could be subjectively good or bad depending on who is doing the evaluating.

Seems like a more insightful thing to say would be that this movie will have to walk a fine line, since it is based on a beloved existing character. Potentially more people are interested, but they also all have their own (potentially different) ideas and expectations about the character.

I'm personally cautiously optimistic, but in general I have liked what Disney has done with Star Wars.
