Americans Elect is Shady

-They refuse to disclose most of their funding.
-The funding that has been disclosed comes mostly from Arno Consulting, a far right organization that has been involved in 5 different voter fraud cases.
-Chairman Peter Ackerman is an investment banker with connections to Koch Industries and the Cato Institute. (http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/relationship.asp?personId=662219) (http://sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Cato_Institute)
-There is no oversight or transparency to their process.
-The way the site is run could easily push the results in the direction that the secret funders want it to go.

Arno Political Consultants Controversies (from wiki).

-In 2004, APC hired JSM who hired YPM who is accused of tricking people into registering to vote as a Republican.[2]
-In 2004, APC is accused of forging signatures on a petition to legalize slot machines in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.[5]
-In 2005, APC has come under fire for allegedly fraudulent ballot petitioning strategies, particularly pertaining to a Massachusetts anti-gay marriage proposal as put forth by the Massachusetts Family Institute.[6][7]
-In 2007, APC hired JSM, Inc. who hired independent contractors who gave snacks and food to homeless people in exchange for signing petitions and registering to vote.[8]
-In 2009, proponents of a payday loan veto referendum sued APC in Franklin County for breach of contract and negligence. 13,000 signatures were thrown out because the Form 15's had not been appropriately filled out. They were seeking $438,000. [9] Both parties reached an undisclosed settlement agreement on July 29th, 2009.

Lets just agree that Tank/APC train could fire one hell of a broadside.

You're absolutely right of course, but let me put it to you another way.
There are, let's say, 99 Bradleys on that train. You pit all of them against say a half-dozen M1A2 Abrams Tanks and the tanks would destroy or disable every one of those Bradleys without having one single hole put through them. Well, this is if it were possible to carry enough ammunition.
The 25mm Bushmaster gun that the Bradleys carry is a good weapon against troops and lightly armoured vehicles, but those rounds would simply bounce harmlessly off the tank. Likewise the armour of a Bradley is fine against most small arms fire but would likely be destroyed by a single RPG, or perhaps even an armour-piercing .50 BMG round.

Don't Bradley's sometimes carry TOW missiles?

I would like to see what would happen if 99 25mm cannons all fired on a single Abrams. I would have though the danger to the Tank would not be a round penetrating the armour, rather that the tank would be eroded rather quickly by that much metal flying at it.

Also, gratz on your Videosift level1 Pedant badge

The "heavily armed and armoured" part is the problem. These are not heavily armed. They fit squarely within the definition of an APC:

armored personnel carrier
noun
a tracked military vehicle with a steel or aluminum hull used to transport troops in combat and usually fitted with light armament. Abbreviation: APC>> ^AeroMechanical:

I think you could call those tanks. Dictionary definition of 'tank' is "an enclosed heavily armed and armored combat vehicle that moves on tracks." Depends on the audience and context. To the world at large, those are tanks.

None of those vehicles are actually tanks, but whatever...

What are they?

They're the exact same things as tanks with slightly lighter armor and slightly smaller guns.

Not exactly, Bradleys are APCs, designed to carry troops into battle and then fight alongside them. MBTs like the Abrams only carry the crew necessary to operate the vehicle.

'Americans Elect' Group Challenges U.S. Presidential Primary

I'm skeptical too, boise. This may be legit, but it may also be another astroturf venture designed to manufacture consent for some yet to be revealed agenda. It's hard to trust anyone in politics these days, and keeping your finances secret is not a good sign - you gotta figure the Citizens United ruling was part of some larger plan. Also, one of confirmed funders, Arno Political Consultants, has a track record of election fraud.
