Fusionaut posted this 70s Sally Cruikshank animation, which I thought you might like (and, as you don't seem to have been around, you might otherwise miss it!) http://videosift.com/video/Make-Me-Pyschic
I always particularly loved the long, line-thin, arms and legs with round hands and feet, and the way they tend to gallop around a lot.
My kids were a bit small to really appreciate it when it was on tv here, several years ago, but I showed them the video tonight and they liked it much more. Until then I was going to say it's wasted on children. I might have to buy the dvd now.
Cat's Cradle left me puzzled at first (was it in the wft channel???) but as it went on I found it more and more humourous. I don't think I would've watched enough to get into it without your comment, so thanks

Thanks for this awesome link!!
I love that show -- you know what, I worked for that company in Berlin on an Asterix film and I'm sure the little critters in that video were just heading into design as I was leaving. They have such a knack for cute characters. The world needs more of that kind of humour. Love the ants getting ready for work haha...
Cat's Cradle is such a weird film! I never really 'got' it, but I adored the shaggy linework. I'm a huge Driessen fan. There are a couple of newer ones he's done with split screens that show the same story from different perspectives -- or other splits like land, sea, air.. I'd really like to see those again.
It's great to see such amazing animation here.
Have you seen this before? http://videosift.com/video/Ted-Siegel-s-Wildlife
I only posted it because your comment on "Cat's cradle" got me to watch it (loved it btw, the moral would have be be "be kind to spiders"?) and then that reminded me of this.

my new favorite....
Don't delete it! lol
In reply to this comment by taranimator:
Oh my gosh, I keep meaning to delete this video!!
It's just something I found accidentally and it tickled my funnybone at the time -- but obviously NO ONE else's -- so I should just get rid of it!
It's just a bunch of silly people dressed as police literally cooking up a batch of fudge. Really.
And something about watching "Bringing Down the House". I think the joke is just that they're NOT doing anything dirty. Just fake cops. Making actual fudge. That's it.
If this is offensive in title alone, I should just take it down! Tell me if you think that's a good idea!
My humour .. um .. ranges. I love smart political humour, but I do fall for pretty lame stuff too. Jeez, I just saw 'Four Lions' last night and it was hilarious but I can't imagine how it got green lit -- it's the darkest black comedy I've ever seen. Shocking!
My husband says I just laugh at everything. So there ya go.

Tara, sweetie, what the heck is this? We need more than "just what the title says"!!
All I can think it is some obscure (well, maybe it isn't obscure) gay reference?
I am mystified.
Hey. For the vimeo videos I've been going to the vimeo video page with the video. Right clicking on the thumbnail of the video in the ascending list of videos on the right side of the screen that shows three videos at a time. Then 'copy image location' of thumbnail. Finally, use the copied address in the fix thumbnail place on videosift under 'image URL'. We're supposed to take a snapshot of the screen of the video but I think vimeo does that already to make their thumbnails. Feel free to message me if this doesn't work for you. Happy thumbnailing!
In reply to this comment by taranimator:
Hi, geo321 -- pretty please would you mind helping me fix a broken thumbnail? Is there a way for me to fix it or am I just too lowly..?

Thanks for the fix for the Daves I know!
I think you've just asked for links to every video in my pqueue
That's a pretty good summary of what plays well to this crowd actually, although you can add a few categories to it too.
In reply to this comment by taranimator:
Oh, I'll have to go back and check that out!
I wouldn't worry about the crickets -- I post completely random stuff and try to just please myself. I'm often shocked at what people are into. Sometimes it's really nerdy, quiet, long, serious pieces, or other times it's mating cows slipping on ice. You just can never tell!
I like lots of music so if you ever want to make sure I see something, send me a link anytime!

I'm glad you liked it, my last few have resulted in silence, perhaps with a few crickets!
It did look a bit like the little one hit herself with the mallet, she appeared to have the remnants of at least one black eye (more obvious at 0 seconds, but I told the embed to start later, when they actually got going).

so pretty..
I was expecting someone to get a mallet in the eye there..
Don't mind me - I'm just a dick. If your vid is declared dead, you either have to find a new embed and fix it, or leave it dead until one turns up. If you change the vid to something else, it's no longer the vid it once was. I saw your vid when posting mine, but saw that it was the short and not the whole movie, so I went and posted it. Having since read the comments below your video, I now know what happened.
In short, you're better off leaving the vid as dead until you find a working embed if you want to retain ownership, or changing it and accepting that you no longer have a sift-rights on the original.
But in this case, I've killed mine and I invite you to find an embed of the whole short film, of which I saw quite a few when searching for it the other day.
Enjoy!

Oh dear, I'm not nearly that calculating, just Canadian, i.e. awkwardly polite.
Tone is a difficult thing to interpret over the internet, but judging by the fact you didn't upvote the vid I've caught just the slightest whiff of passive agressive from your comment. Being the magnanimous sifter that I am, how about you use the embed of mine, and let me know so I can upvote it.
Cheers,
Kymbos.

I posted this last week but there's a copyright crackdown that killed my link, so I swapped it for just the trailer. I hope this one stays up for you. The film's being distributed through Itunes now.

Oi, do you want to sift the other version that you found, as well? I think it'll go all the way. It'll certainly get my vote!

Loved it! Gave it my vote!
